I always thought it was stupid when people complained about Crew activity, but...
While TEF is away, there are no crews around at night, they take sleeping too serious. And so there's problems with cheaters, or other problems. So perhaps you should, like, make someone perm mod, but have that perm mod be temp. In other words, add them to the Crew, but then take it away from them when TEF returns.
It'll be a bit hard, because then that one person could see the Crew's private board and probably see the Key to the Crew channels, but if there's a way 'round that problem, please do so. Otherwise the server will get overrun by cheaters every night until the end of the summer (like now as I post this, there's about 3).

Is it the exact time now, or?
We're always discussing new crew, and there's a possible fix for the current time. Maybe a bit later.

It's always at like...2am BST / GMT onwards until 10am BST/GMT if lucky. I don't mean add new Crew, but you can give perm Mod rights without giving them any special rights on the forum, right? So do that and when TEF gets back, take it away from whoever it is. Just giving temp mod would be useless, one crash and then that's the server facked for the night. So give perm-temp! It has to be someone who's on often of a night and can be trusted...and has a basic understanding of the Mod commands too (from temp mod experiences).

Bit of a weird idea. If they have ingame rights, they need rights on the forum to answer appeals, rights on IRC to handle bans etc.
And, if we had someone we trusted and that knew the commands well, we would've promoted already for perm

Edit:
But you could just do what you'd do with temp mods, have them PM a certain Admin available to reply to that ban appeal for him, with his chosen words and possibly temp-mod chosen days for the banned user, if it's not a cheater that's been banned.

Yeah, but that'd happen quite a bit more then with a person being an actual tempmod.. Either 1 appeal or so, or like 5+ maybe(on a daily basis).
And, as I said, I got my eye on someone.

I feel sorry for him then.
But if there's like 5+ appeals, it's better that than a server full of cheaters throughout the night. Maybe make a special Membergroup for a short time, so anyone in that group (the perm temp mod) can post in appeals, but not see the special Crew board(s?). I know THAT is possible, 'coz I've done it before.

I guess that last part is possible indeed.

Of course it is, like I said I've done it. Maybe you could name it 'Potential Crew Recruits' or 'Perm Temp Crew'. It'll also be good for any future 'Crewbitch' events, too...or other future purposes
