MTA had a good team of devs too, who didn't go banning countries.

The reason France was banned is because there were DDoSers (Denial Of Service) there preventing the test from going ahead. It's unbanned now.

I was referring to NL, not France. When there were DDoS attacks, it was believed to be someone from Holland, and so I joined my main server, owned by a Dutchie, and favoured by Dutchies (due to the name being STONED Freeroam) with the name Not_Dutch_Haha to pee 'em off. Turns out he was in a part of Holland that wasn't caught in the ban :(

And it turned out it was an English person I think, if my memory serves me right.

And yes @Darius :)

it's not like it's unreasonable... a lot of the cheaters come from there, so many they've ruined it for others.

SA-MP has been there for the players for years now, MTA has just built up a bunch of hype but lots of disappointment due to the lack of releases for the public

So true. It took 3 years to release the first small release, which was so small it had no interiors, money (unless scripted) lots of bugs and no map editor, while it took SA-MP a couple weeks to bring out the first release then a few months to bring out 2.0. Perhaps a year, at most (can't quite remember). Everyone lost faith in the MTA Team, and just left and went to SA-MP, that's why SA-MP today is so popular because those people who lost faith are too lazy to go to MTA or have been and are rightfuflly disappointed.

I stayed loyal to the Team though for the effort they put into it until they released 0.2. I even got invited into the Team, and learnt that there are decent people in both QA and MTA Team, but suck at making something decent.

Yano before 0.3 came out, we did some tests for it, and it had this problem where when cars blew up, they remained there, and never respawned, which made it hard for the capture the car minigame. Not only that, but the sync was worse than SA-MP 1 too, when I was using the NRG, I went up the stairs near the pyramid casino, and crashed on a stair and my bike landed on some roof. The sync was well overrated. Dunno about now though, with my internet bein the way it has been I haven't been able to try it.

well the sync is alot better in some aspects, and absolute shit in others.

Also, MTA 1.0 has been out for a bit now. That has the map editor (which is fucking awesome and simple to use). You should try it out, I recommend going on one of the Zombie servers, or 'basemode 0.3' servers.  ;)

Yeah the Race map editor was great too, and this one always showed promise...it just never came until too late. Once I actually get an internet, I'll give it a go.
