I've got some ideas, suggestions and a complaint to propose to you fine people here at LVP.
First of all, someone should fix/update the map of properties; buying the same ones all the time gets old. And it's not cool for the people who don't need money (admins and OG's) to keep that information away from the people who do need it (noobs). Just seems like it would make things a little more fair, which is something I've noticed LVP tries to do.
Secondly, I think we should all vote on whether or not molotovs are allowed; that's one of the most awesome weapons in the game (in my opinion at least). Along the same lines as this, I think melee weapons (especially the knife and baseball bat) should be more common than they are, I've found the pool stick in the bar and the chainsaw that everyone can only pick up once (wtf is up with that anyway?), but that's about it except for the lovely flowers you receive upon your departure from jail. It shouldn't be about guns all the time.
Also, jetpacks could make for some awesome air battles, just sayin'. You could have them at the airport with the rest of the shit that flies. There could even be a minigame where everyone's in a jetpack with macs/tecs and can't leave it til there's one person left. Just a thought.
And fix the bug that makes it so you can't fly over the ship without your helicopter/plane disappearing and dropping you from the sky.
Here's a few more ideas/suggestions that I'll go into greater detail about if they appeal to anyone:
- Pedestrian killing minigame with all weapons and no "friendly fire"
- Driveby minigame at the driving school, cars don't take damage from crashing
- Taxi options to Los Santos and San Fierro
- A one-time "loyalty bonus" (2x pay) for owning a property for over 3 hours
- Have a scheduled "hack day" every month where hacks are allowed
- Let there be gunfights (but no nades) indoors
And here's my complaint, which has probably been brought up before: ease up on what we're allowed to say in-game. Seriously, who's playing a game called Grand Theft Auto and hasn't heard/read a cuss word before? TEF told me that "fag" is looked down on because there are openly gay members of the LVP community, which is understandable. But if reading a derogatory word (that may or may not be directed toward you) makes you feel bad about yourself or negatively affects your gameplay, then you're being far too sensitive and you need to chickity-check yourself before you wriggity-wreck yourself. I would have put "nigga" on the end of that last sentence, but I've seen people get banned for that, which is stupid considering it's part of the game's dialogue script. I'm not saying we should turn the in-game chat into a cesspool of cussing and racial slurs, all I'm saying is that the admins should lighten up a little bit about it.
Other than that, LVP is the best server I've found on SA:MP, and I hope my suggestions get taken into consideration.

Hi,
for starters, thanks for your input.

Only management and developers can reply here, hence the amount of views and replies.

It's not that every admin knows every property. In fact, I started buying more properties again lately and I don't think I even know 1/10 of them all. Next to that, if the map was back, there is no fun in it anymore, there's no so called property-hunt. People would know all of the properties. And, admins can make their own money, but not everyone does so(taking myself as example).

Molotovs can be fun indeed, but for our regular gameplay, I think people would be rather annoyed. Lots of people already cry about nading. If they cry about that, I don't think they'd like having fires everywhere.
As for the melee weapons, agreed. There's flowers somewhere in SF too(and maybe more places that I am unaware of), but it's not too much.
Quote:Also, jetpacks could make for some awesome air battles, just sayin'. You could have them at the airport with the rest of the shit that flies. There could even be a minigame where everyone's in a jetpack with macs/tecs and can't leave it til there's one person left. Just a thought.
Jetpacks are an absolute nogo for me. It's easy to spot people hacking as it is, but having everyone allowed to use jetpacks would make it a lot harder. Not to mention having 20 000 jetpacks spawned around the cities, as if you leave them normally, they tend to multiply. I give them out sometimes for fun, but imo it should remain something special.
As for the minigame, that'd take ages to get people down. It can already be hard to hit people well whilst running the ground(the people on the ground and you in the air), let alone both parties flying.
Quote:And fix the bug that makes it so you can't fly over the ship without your helicopter/plane disappearing and dropping you from the sky.
I believe TEF already made a ticket on Mantis about this. This will be fixed. However, there are more important bugs that need fixing.
Quote:1. Pedestrian killing minigame with all weapons and no "friendly fire"
2. Driveby minigame at the driving school, cars don't take damage from crashing
3. Taxi options to Los Santos and San Fierro
4. A one-time "loyalty bonus" (2x pay) for owning a property for over 3 hours
5. Have a scheduled "hack day" every month where hacks are allowed
6. Let there be gunfights (but no nades) indoors
1. Define this a little more please. You want a minigame with every gun in the game(this isn't possible as you can only hold 1 gun of each type, but we could go for the strongest of every type) with teams and no FF?
2. I personally see no point in a driveby minigame.
3. There's both /taxi 8 and /taxi 9. Not to mention that you can 'fly' there from the airports(I do not mean by plane or helicopter, but you can 'fly' there with a menu alike the taxi).
4. This sounds good to me, but 3 hours might be a bit much. We could also make it an achievement!
5. Hell no. We do not allow hacking, at all, at any time.
6. We've just written a handler and all for it, we won't just change it back without a reason. Not to mention that a lot of people find it to be annoying if they can be shot inside the 24/7s etc. Including health loss, that is.

Grand Theft Auto or not, 'flaming' in the game itself or not, rated 18+ or not, there's a lot of minors. Not to mention we see no point in insulting each other. You can use swearwords, but actual flaming and/or insult is prohibited, and it will remain to be this way.

About the flying over the ship, Fireburn fixed that a few versions ago. Not sure if it's bugged or not, I'll check this later.

Could also be that the reporter tried flying closer to the private ship than the new limits allow.

Next to that, if the map was back, there is no fun in it anymore, there's no so called property-hunt. People would know all of the properties. And, admins can make their own money, but not everyone does so(taking myself as example).
So there's no kind of list or way to "snap to" properties in the map editor? I don't know much about how you guys add stuff to the server so I could just be talking bullshit, but it would seem to me that there would be some way of finding them all relatively easily. And as far as it not being fun goes, I can see your point in that. But while scavenger hunts can be fun, making money can be difficult for noobs (at least it was for me when I started out). Buying and being able to find properties would be more efficient than standing on the ship, and would gain them access to spawnweapons, etc. faster, which would in turn make them want to stay on the server. It's a stretched-out line of thought, but I think I've explained it enough lol.
They would be annoying at first, but a fire is easier to spot than a grenade explosion, so it would serve as a kind of "warning" that molotovs are being used in the area, whereas nades just come out of fucking nowhere and piss you off lol.
As far as the melee weapons go, I'd mainly like to see the knife be incorporated into the server outside of the minigame. I'm aware that it's possible to do a one-hit kill with it, but the chances of it happening when everyone's using tecs and sawnoffs all the time isn't as high as one may think. There should be a bat at the baseball stadium, a (pimp)cane in one of the lapdance rooms of all the strip clubs, dildo in the porn store, brass knuckles outside the boxing/martial arts buildings, maybe put a knife in jail and let people fight when there's multiple people in jail together.
Maybe you can hide just one on the map somewhere and not tell anyone about it, that way there wouldn't be a million of them all over the city. And as for the minigame, it could be in a small room (like boxing ring sized) so people couldn't run away and it would make them easier to hit. And I hadn't thought about the flying hackers part, that's a good point. So if/when you hide the one jetpack, make it so that you have to have 50 hours on the server to be able to use it. Most hackers are new/unregistered so they wouldn't be able to use it, and it would be easy to tell which of the two people flying was the one hacking.
1. Define this a little more please. You want a minigame with every gun in the game(this isn't possible as you can only hold 1 gun of each type, but we could go for the strongest of every type) with teams and no FF?
That's what I meant, a selection of the best weapons in the game (deagle, sawnoffs, macs, M4, sniper rifle, molotovs, and the chainsaw for example) in a warehouse or similar sized building packed with pedestrians. You could either have a kill quota to meet or a time limit where the peds keep spawning and players kill as many as they possibly can before the time runs out. Everyone enjoys a good massacre every now and then lol.
2. I personally see no point in a driveby minigame.
That's why I put it on the "maybe" list, I didn't think it would go over well. But it could be fun, kind of like a destruction derby with guns as the main focus.
3. There's both /taxi 8 and /taxi 9. Not to mention that you can 'fly' there from the airports(I do not mean by plane or helicopter, but you can 'fly' there with a menu alike the taxi).
I forgot about that, thanks lol.
4. This sounds good to me, but 3 hours might be a bit much. We could also make it an achievement!
I suggested this because I owned a property for 502 minutes when I sold it and thought to myself "I should get something for that, I bet it doesn't happen often".
5. Hell no. We do not allow hacking, at all, at any time.
Fair enough. I just thought it might be fun because I've never hacked before and wanted to try it lol.
6. We've just written a handler and all for it, we won't just change it back without a reason. Not to mention that a lot of people find it to be annoying if they can be shot inside the 24/7s etc. Including health loss, that is.
True, but a lot of people (like myself) like to run inside when they're about to die, and it's lame to chase someone inside when they're almost dead only to not be able to kill them until they heal up. It protects my ass a lot of the time, but it shouldn't lol.
Grand Theft Auto or not, 'flaming' in the game itself or not, rated 18+ or not, there's a lot of minors. Not to mention we see no point in insulting each other. You can use swearwords, but actual flaming and/or insult is prohibited, and it will remain to be this way.
Like I said, the chat shouldn't be a cesspool of bad language. But people shouldn't get kicked for calling someone a fag or for saying the now socially accepted N word with an A on the end instead of an ER. I was trying to explain to TEF that while it's a nice gesture to aim for friendliness, it keeps away some people who get into the game enough to spend hours on at a time.
My main point in registering on this forum is to suggest things that might bring in more people from other servers and make them stay. I hate how the only time there's more than 20 people on is when I'm about to go to bed. I'd like to help make LVP more appealing to outsiders than the shitty RP servers they play on, how they prefer that over this as it is is beyond me. It's a genuine concern of mine.
And despite what TEF has said, I'm not a troll, I assure you of that. I've got 170 hours on LVP, I don't come here to cause problems. I just love this server and want to be a part of making it better.

There is a way for admins to do that, of course. But I don't use it as it ruins the fun! I admit I sometimes did, but I try not to!
I believe making money is very very easy, I tried several times to start a new account and make money(unregistered even) and I made several millions in less then an hour. I might add that I didn't buy a single property. I see your point but I think the 'fun to find them' overrules it. But that's just my opinion.
Quote:They would be annoying at first, but a fire is easier to spot than a grenade explosion, so it would serve as a kind of "warning" that molotovs are being used in the area, whereas nades just come out of fucking nowhere and piss you off lol.
Yeah ok, but it still remains annoying as well
Not to mention the no-reload bug which comes with the fire.

All good for me, except for the knife. The knife is bugged, desynchs people if you fail the kill. Happens quite a bit. We sometimes fool around with it and give it out, but not too often. Should remain special too imo.

I guess you don't know this, but, if you leave a jetpack, it sometimes multiplies. So if you go out of it on like the strip, 20 people pick it up, leave it at some point and get it to multiply etc.
Putting it in the boxing ring is VERY small
As for one on the map > if one finds it, everyone will know it very quickly.

Sounds like fun, I saw this before on some server, got a pretty good idea for this. They had it in some dock area, was a good place for it imo.

I don't think anyone would kick right away for it, a mute is a definite fit, but a kick at once, nah.
As for the N word, that may be partially accepted among black people(saying like 'yo wassup my nigga?'), it's also used as racist term. Which is why we chose to not allow it at all. As the reason for saying it isn't always clear. Leaving out that one word shouldn't be too hard I think.

What times do you play(tell me your timezone in GMT too, so I can check it on servertime)? I rarely see 20 people. I'm guessing you're an American and play at my nights, which are indeed less busy than your nights.

Not to mention the no-reload bug which comes with the fire.
But at least there's some kind of visible warning lol. And what's with the no-reload bug? What exactly does that mean?
All good for me, except for the knife. The knife is bugged, desynchs people if you fail the kill. Happens quite a bit. We sometimes fool around with it and give it out, but not too often. Should remain special too imo.
Then you should let me have one sometime lolĀ

As for one on the map > if one finds it, everyone will know it very quickly.
And once everyone found it, you could just move it somewhere else (kind of like what happens with the TEF property from what I've gathered). And for the minigame you could create a room specifically for it, like jail.
Sounds like fun, I saw this before on some server, got a pretty good idea for this. They had it in some dock area, was a good place for it imo.
I'm just imagining a warehouse full of people shoulder to shoulder, kind of like the zombies in Dead Rising, running around in panic mode while players own the shit out of them lol. It would be a nice break from chasing people down all the time.
That's indeed quite long
Yes, about 8 hours I believe lol.
Not everyone always wants to fight, there's several things done to prevent people from running, but there should be things to be able to get away from fights.
True, which is why it's not a huge deal to me. But we don't want to have too many safe zones either.
I don't think anyone would kick right away for it, a mute is a definite fit, but a kick at once, nah.
As for the N word, that may be partially accepted among black people(saying like 'yo wassup my *snip*?'), it's also used as racist term. Which is why we chose to not allow it at all. As the reason for saying it isn't always clear. Leaving out that one word shouldn't be too hard I think.
I won't put too much more effort into this because I see you guys are pretty set in your ways about it, but context is important here. I wouldn't see too much of a problem with it unless it had the ER on the end. Hell, it's even in the music on some of the radio stations in the game lol.
What times do you play(tell me your timezone in GMT too, so I can check it on servertime)? I rarely see 20 people. I'm guessing you're an American and play at my nights, which are indeed less busy than your nights.
I play on and off from about 1:00pm to 4:00am, and I'm from Portland, Oregon (don't know the name of the time zone). I've noticed it starts dying down around 8 or 9 and starts picking back up around 2.
Despite that you may troll at times(no idea if so, but let's say it's so), if you can put in good things here, why not?
The only way I could see myself being a troll is my relentless drivebys (I'm the self-proclaimed king of them). And that's more of an OCD kind of thing, because that's what I do in single player too lol.

There's a bug with fire that allows you to fire constantly without reloading, that keeps going until you're not on fire anymore.
Quote:Then you should let me have one sometime lolĀ
If we'll ever see each other ingame..

The multiplying still remains.
As for the minigame, that sounds alright. We'd have to find a suiting place for it.

I never played that, but I guess I can imagine. But this now sounds a little different than I thought before. You say people running around and others shooting them? With like a timer, the people running should stay alive for x seconds?
Quote:True, which is why it's not a huge deal to me. But we don't want to have too many safe zones either.
With the ship as safezone and interiors people can flee to(you can shoot them even when they're still half in the corona), I think that's alright. Not everyone likes the DM part of SA.

I'm aware of all that, but the context isn't always clear, do they know each other or not etc. But we may unban people earlier if both parties can tell us they are like friends.

So people would stay on fire until they died? Seems logical seeing as how it's a molotov lol.

I've seen you in game once, I think I may have even shot at you when I passed you on a bike lol.
The multiplying still remains.
As for the minigame, that sounds alright. We'd have to find a suiting place for it.
Moving it around often is my only solution to the multiplying, unless there's a way that you can fix the multiplier bug.
And you could just create a room in another world specifically for the minigame, like jail was created (unless I missed that part in single player, never did actually beat the game lol).
I never played that, but I guess I can imagine. But this now sounds a little different than I thought before. You say people running around and others shooting them? With like a timer, the people running should stay alive for x seconds?
Yea, the pedestrians run around like they do in single player when you shoot a gun around them, and there's hundreds of them on screen at once. If it's possible, you could make all the pedestrians die in one shot to make massacring them quicker. The whole minigame could be over in say, 1 minute or so.
I'm aware of all that, but the context isn't always clear, do they know each other or not etc. But we may unban people earlier if both parties can tell us they are like friends.
Fair enough.

I'm exaggerating a little bit, but yea, there's usually about 20 or 30 people on most of the time out of a possible 200.
