Stopping runners
#1
Runners annoy everyone, that's a fact. So what I would like to suggest it that the same taxi system ("you can't taxi because you have been in a gunfight recently") would be implemented in store entrances, where you couldn't enter if you had been in a gunfight recently. It would be also implemented on the ship, because that's where most runners go to.

This should be possible for the interior entrances, though the ship should remain a safe-zone in my opinion. Moving to open for discussion though, I'm interested what other people think.

I agree with running to the ship being disallowed, but I disagree with running into interiors being disallowed.

Why? Running to the ship is an exclusively LVP phenomenon and is not part of the GTA SA immersive experience. However disabling running into interiors makes no sense in that context and would break immersion imo.

But over all a good idea I think.

Should I make a separate thread suggesting the dissalowing of health and armour pickups after being in a fight? Because imo "refilling" should be stopped for everyone too.

Well Phoenix, I thought about that too, but imagine that a person is in a 3vs1, and kills one, he has the right to refill, doesn't he?

And Wesley, I'm not saying the ship should stop being a safezone, it would just have some kind of boundaries so that when someone had recently been fighting he wouldn't be able to go inside.

Hmmm, but following that reasoning wouldn't he have the right to run also?..

You can turn it around too; people who attack me for no reason sometimes makes me annoyed. I can agree that using commands to run away should not be allowed - however running onto the ship and into interiors is quite innocent in comparison to abusing commands. A player has been attacked by someone trying to kill them - should they have no chance whatsoever of saving themselves?

No, there really is nothing wrong with running (apart from in the middle of a fight when you realise you're going to lose). I think an instinct when you get attacked by someone with better weapons and armour is to run away to avoid death. What's wrong with doing that?

Yeah Phoenix, but it's different from being in a 1vs1 and a person runs to the ship or into a shop.

Felle: You only get the "you have recently been in a gunfight" if you actually shoot, so if you were shot out of nowhere you could just run inside. My idea was basically made to stop people who run from 1vs1 and shit.

You make a good argument. I think dissallowing ship running but allowing interior running would be a good compromise and also more realistic in terms of roleplaying and such.

[offtopic]I have to agree with Felle, i consider a runner someone who joins in the fight with you / shoots back, then run.[/offtopic]

But interiors should be locked in case of recent gunfight imo.

Afaik, you can't taxi either if you got shot. Correct if I'm wrong.

As for the ship: I know it's annoying, but I don't think there's a good way of preventing it.
Interiors, offtopic: People shoot you when you leave an interior, because you take damage again when you leave. Annoying too.
Interiors, ontopic: Should remain allowed. As Felle said, not everyone wants to fight, they must have a chance to escape if they want.
However, as Felle also said, when being in a fight and leaving halfway because you're going to lose is shitty. But then again, giving the crew that as a task and having people report such stuff is not going to do much more. Plus that it isn't really crews job, we shouldn't overdo it.
