Sucks. I'd suggest you to make a transparent background, remove 40% shadow, choose another font, and place the text under the mushroom.

Choose a lighter color for the background, and add some borders, 2/3 pixel

I just made those backgrounds to suit them. Please tell me which one is better.

Personally, they all look crappy. I'd suggest reading some Photoshop tutorials - adding a simple background, text on it and then text layers is like 2 minute job or less and belongs to the category of quantity.
