Nickname: DOUBLE_RIFLE
Date of the ban: 25 January 2009, around 11:00 pm CST
Suspected Reason: speed hack
Your IP address:

Well, my girlfriend and I just installed the game last night. Today, when we joined the server her computer was running fine; however, my computer/character seemed laggy and was moving fast, scrolling through my guns fast. Seemed like either a connection interruption or maybe an error with my computer. To be honest, I still dont know what it was. I was banned for a 'speed hax'. I then tried to get on another multiplayer server and it did the same. So I got off the server and tried single player and experiened the same thing...even in the introductory videos when you are first loading the game it was speeding through everything, as if someone has their finger on fastforward. More than requesting to  be unbanned, I would like some resolution to this problem. I am new to GTA and have never experienced this problem in any other games I have played. I would like to add, that when I tested this on my vista install, I do not experience this problem, but the game randomly crashed on me. This is why I resorted to XP but instead of the random crashes, I experience this lag/bug problem, or what ever it is. (maybe you have seen this before and know what the problem is???)

I appreciate the time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
John.

*EDIT* Removed IP from post for security reasons. If IP is still needed by moderator/admin, please let me know and I will gladly send it in a PM.

Hello double_rifle,

I was not the one who banned you, but I did talk to your girlfriend and I do not believe you cheated, that is why I did some research for you. This may be your answer:

Scroll to the bottom if you don't feel like reading it all.

I will talk to Cyrix404, who banned you. He should reply here soon.

I too also believe you have fallen victim to a bug that was not caused by you, and thanks to Raymond, there may be a fix for the problem. I have unbanned you, but I do suggest that you test if the game is working in either debug or single player modes, to make sure that the game is running at normal speed before connecting to LVP again.

@ Ramond:  Thank you for taking time to research the problem. I am having the same problem/issue as discribed in the link you provided; however, I am running an Intel E8400 CPU, but I did try the AMD CPU patch just to make sure. Unfortunatly, it didn't help as the game still runs in "fast forward" mode on my XP install. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game (which is retail v2.0), disabled SLI, and set my 3d settings at default, but still have the same problem. It may take reintsalling XP to resolve the problem. At least the game runs fine, with the acception of random crashes, on my Vista install.  :)

@ Cyrix404:    Thanks for unbanning. If/when I connect to LVP it will be on my Vista install(if I'd known the game was bugged in XP, I wouldn't have gotten on in the first place).
