Certificate problem
#1
Hi, I'm having a problem since a couple of days. I was hoping it'd resolve itself, but it didn't.

The last few days I didn't use my PC at all, only my laptop. Whilst browsing the net, I found myself unable to access some sites(including hyves.nl and my gmail(google is working but gmail isn't..)). It tells me that they site has a certificate which is out of date and that the certificate will be valid on 7-3-2008(like, wtf) for hyves and 2-5-2008 for gmail(again, wtf).

With this problem, I also cannot get MSN to work. When I run the check, it says that my IE offline settings are wrong. I clicked the link where I could find the solution, and did what it told me. The sites now work again, in IE. Now, the problem is, I use FF as my standard-browser. In FF, I still have the same problem. I cannot find the setting to fix it(as that's the problem here too, I suppose).

What is even more odd, everything works on my PC, just not on my laptop.

Edit: I also noticed that(again laptop) it thinks that all the programs I have are 'newly installed programs'. It also think mIRC is new, for example(I seem to have a new trial for it).

My question is, does anyone know which setting(including where exactly to find it) I have to change in order to get it to work?

Thanks,

estroe

I may be wrong, but you have to set IE online mode (un-tick 'work offline')

if its not that then sorry, I dont know.

And where should that be? I looked in the list where I fixed the problem for IE, but I don't see it there.

Note that I'm trying to get it to work with FF as IE already works.

Okay, I was just thinking about the MSN problem tbh.
And work offline is in the 'File' drop down menu by the way.

Have you checked to make sure your date and time arent messed up?

Ok, this is very weird but, you're right. :/ It was 29 January 2008 somehow... Is it possible that it was because it ran out of battery and data was lost?

So everything works again?

If not, if you have a wired connection, pull out the wire, plug it back in go to www.<IP>.com and re-enter everything.

It worked on me & Greyfox.

I'd like to recommend Opera if Firefox and IE doesn't work. Also estroe, are you using IE8? Because it was released few weeks ago and contains lots of bugs.

Nope :P As I never use it, I didn't update it either.
