And as they have multiple definitions, they're not the same.

Multiple definitions meaning we're both right. As I said on IRC, we're both right. Accept it and move on. :P

[04:55:12] <@Fry> we're both right ok?
[04:55:13] <@Twilight> bish
[04:55:20] <@TEF> Yes, Fry, we are.
[04:55:24] <@Fry> alright :)
[04:55:26] <@TEF> Which is what I stated in the first place _O-
[04:55:30] <@TEF> Now go post this
[04:55:38] <@Twilight> it took you guys 35 minutes to decide that you're both right? :+
[04:56:10] <@Fry> i think my argument carries a bit more weight but i'm a bit scared to tell him
[04:56:20] <@Fry> (he carries more weight than the continent of africa)

Not really, as they have multiple definitions, they can not be the exact same. ;)

Actually, it's quite the opposite. Because they have multiple definitions, it makes us both correct.

You once again show that you indeed fail the most.

Yes, but that's not up for debate here. :+

You agreeing to that means that I am right, as this shows you fail.

I rest my case, sleeptime.

How is offering the same as asking? They both have completely different definitions.

If you ask somebody for something, you want it of them.

If somebody offers you something, they wan't you to have it.

Hmm. There could be some situations where it would be useful to offer and ask for something all in the same word...

This question was really made into a big deal because someone PM'ed an Administrator saying "I can help you if you need me to. I've already been Mod yesterday," which is what most of the Crew considers as asking to be Mod. Fireburn insisted that this was just an offer to help, while cloakster and myself said it was blatantly asking to be Temp'ed again. So, in this case, it was asking, but in other cases, it truly isn't. Everyone happy now that they get where this all came from? No? Too damned bad. :P
