I can unsuggest KoRn but you've got 3 pretty excellent bands there (though I haven't heard a great deal of APC).
Basically, if you're into them then you'll be into alternative metal.
Tool are arguably (but without very much argument) the greatest alt metal band ever, but I'd suggest Faith No More, RATM (of course you've heard of them), Soundgarden, Alice in Chains...

Couldn't agree more.

Alice in Chains, Rage, and Soundgarden are definitely awesome, have every one of their albums. I'll check Faith no More out though.
