A complaint and an idea.

Complaint about the /ramping feature is all nica and all, but when I drive a truck or even another vehicle but especially the truck, people keep destroying my vehicle by using ramps.

Idea is for the mainchat. The rule is English only in the main chat. Maybe it is an idea to concider the possibility of several mainchats. 1 for english, 1 for dutch, 1 for german, one for spanish. just an idea but i guess it might be to complicated.

Greetz and hope to see you all ingame soon.

About /ramping - a fix has been developed in 2.90 to prevent people from abusing ramps.

Also, I dislike the multiple mainchat feature. If they can't speak English, then how will they know how to go to the other chat rooms? People can use PM. :+

Okay, well that is another small Idea, some people can't read the message going; How about showing that same messages in other languages aswel in the main chat, like; Engels in de Hoofdchat. Or, Englisch in die Hauptchat. or Hable inglés en charla principal. Then everyone knows to speak english in tha main chat or they have to use PM. If they don't know the rule then they don't know what to do.

I myself have no problems with the rule. My english is good enough so I don't mind. I just thought of this because it might help others.
K tnx for your time again.

LVP does actually have a language handler that supports many phrases used in LVP, However it only supports english and dutch. The problem with such a system is finding a volunteer who is willing to translate over 300 phrases into the handlers syntax into a new language. Then we would have to go back and edit a lot of phrases so they work with the handler. It would be quite a bit of messing and would take up quite a bit of development time.

I do agree though, it is needed. I would be willing to set it up, but such a system would have to be the very last thing done, as more phrases & stuff could be added in the future if it is done beforehand. It's finding the volunteers that's the problem though.

..?

He's talking about multiple chat channels for different languages.. lol.

And no way do I think it's a good idea to go back to that old system - we would have so many strings to convert. It's simply a waste of development time.

Yes but in the post above mine he was saying about explaining one of the rules in another language which no doubt would probably lead to most things being in different languages due to the already built handler.

Converting strings would take a while indeed, but about 50% of it is already done which is why I said about finding some volunteers who can speak other languages to help out. It would take a while and it is annoying, but on the other hand for LVP to support about 5 languages, it would probably increase the player counts.

yea that would be great, a setting which players can change their server language.

Actually, he was talking about deploying different messages in different languages randomly as we do with some strings now - nothing to do with making more than one language available.. ;)

And 50% of LVP is a LOT. Complete waste of time in my eyes, as we're an English server, and will most probably stay that way. It's a waste of development time, and could push 2.90's release back an extra month at least (realistically, don't be hypothetical here).

I know I am not in the development team, but i agree with tomozj, I was just trying to say that it would be handy for non-english players that they know they have to use /call or /pm. So when there is a message like; ENGLISH in main chat please, for non-english use /pm or /call, also, once in a while also mention this same phrase in other languages, thats all...

k greetings
