[Feature] Formatting Player Score

Right, so in #LVP today a player brought up something interesting we should try to tackle for 2.9.

Quote:[13:11:42] <Gunsar_Hermann> why don't u make the score with kills
[13:11:46] <Gunsar_Hermann> not with money
Let's take a moment to think about this.

There's a ton of ways we could sort players' scores. We need to keep in mind that the score will show up in-game on the scoreboard, and in the player list on the server browser.
Several different ideas were brought up. It's probably a good idea to factor several attributes into this. Here's some things we should think about incorporating:
  • Kills per session
  • Deaths per session
  • Time played per session
  • Cash on-hand
  • Banked cash
  • Properties owned
  • Total property earnings
  • Average property earnings
  • Money on head (bounties on them)
  • Minigames/races won per session
  • Exports per session
  • Dick size (suggestion from Peter)

There's probably more that I'm missing or haven't thought of.
Per session means starting at 0 when they join, and saved until they leave, crash, or are kicked.
Does anyone have some ideas for this?
We can make this system really cool if we think up an awesome, complicated algorithm. Either way, I think it's kind of wasted on cash on-hand. Nobody really hunts down people with tons of cash on them anymore, and if they do, it's actually a little lame and shouldn't be encouraged.

I like the idea of all your money that's in the bank; but if we could somehow have two numbers within the "Score" portion of the scoreboard, or even have two "Score" parts, you could do both the kills and deaths per session.

This is a great idea!
It covers both the RPGers and fighters.

Maybe an extra score/reward for being in the top 5-10 (session) ! (only when there are more then 20-30 online ofcourse)

As far as I know, it's just one value and always a number.

Er, what do you think we should be measuring though?

I kind of like kills per session only. It's simple, and it doesn't require too much work besides a little more logging. The only downsides are that non-fighters are ranked lower and people who have been on longer are ranked higher. This isn't a huge problem, because non-fighters are already measuring their success through properties, and we actually should be encouraging people to stay on longer to keep their scoreboard position - which would also bring more steady traffic to the server.

I agree. But isn't the players cash his score? Does SA-MP have a way to display the scoreboard based on other values? If not, I can see a huge problem with this idea :P

Afaik it does, because on LS-RP for example, score is built upon ingame time.

I've also seen it. One some server(dunno which) they had it from both kills and money(on hand I believe) and it changed every x seconds between those.
