Fraps high ping issue: Windows 7(?)

Uhh I find it hard to believe that FRAPS would make your ping spike, as it is not network related in any way. But there is a few method I have discovered for FRAPS, for example: getting a second hard drive to record on, instead of using your primary hard drive to record on. Of course, FRAPS will always require a bit of free processing and ram to work, because yeah, compressing a video while playing a game is not always the most lightweight thing for a computer to handle.
