Both Avast and AVG are on about the same level if it comes down to free antivirus products. The best free one, awarded by quite a few different magazines, is Avira.

@Holden: just google for a fix, i bet theres thousands more GTA IV users with AVG lol, im sure there is some kind of workaround... if not, just disable it or put the LaunchGTAIV.exe on the whitelist? :O
