Adding weapons/armor/health with the map editor?

I just started getting the hang of it, I'm able to add random objects such as ramps and the giant cowboy in Las Venturas, but when I try to add armor or health (haven't found the weapon files yet), they show up as solid objects instead of pickups. I know it's possible, because when I used to play on LVP (0.3a won't work for me), there were added weapons and health/armor pickups. Can anyone here help me?
