Well Alienware would be your best bet for gaming computers but...unlikely you'll get that any time soon.
But what you don't wanna do is buy a whole computer, as they nearly always turn out rubbish...so building one from scratch is roughly same price, little more expensive / cheaper but much more effective.
When I built this PC (2 years ago now...about this month too) it costed me around £600 and 2 years on it's still in good condition and can run high demanding games like GTA:IV. But if I post my computer specs they'll be nothing compared to what you'll be getting.
