In the need of something to do I've cultivated some plants. To inspire and interest the fellow users here I am starting this topic to keep you updated on how my plants are doing. Questions and/or opinions are always welcome.
What I have sown so far is:
Tomato
Chili
Clementine
Orange
Radish
Avocado
Paprika
What I haven't sown yet, but will do later:
Dill
Parsley
Other ones I was thinking of:
Mints (a few different types, f.e marjoram/oregano)
Chive
Thyme
Cress
and possibly some other ones (mostly aromatic plants).
This is the first time I do something like this, so it's mostly for testing for now, and the plants I've sown this far are in pretty small amounts. All of them, except the chili, are best sewing later in the spring (around april), so they will probably die sooner or later since I can't get them out on our balcony until May perhaps. In other words, I'll probably sew most of them again later.
Chili is however (at least in the climate I live in) best sewing in February/March, so I'm making a serious attempt to keep them alive for this year at least.

I can really recommend giving it a try, it doesn't take much time, nor is it expensive (you could easily save money if you have a few successful harvests), it's fun following how fast it grows and it's always nice having a few plants around. One of the things that inspired me was the thought of eating my own homemade chili sauce...
I have no idea how this will go, if it fails I'll just not update it, but if there is an interest I will do so regularly. Feel free to share your own stories on the subject.
EDIT:
Here are some dates where stuff has happened (I keep notes in case I ever need to know):
7/2: Sewed clementine (10 seeds), paprika (~14 seeds) and tomato (~10 seeds)
10/2: Sewed avocado (1 core)
12/2: Small sprouts of tomato, about 7 of them. Grew pretty fast to about 3 cm.
14/2: Sewed orange (7 seeds)
15/2: Sewed chili (5 seeds)
17/2: A few small sprouts of paprika. Also re-planted the tomatoes in a bigger pot.
20/2: Sewed radish (19 seeds)
22/2: Already a few small sprouts of radish.
23/2: More radish and one sprout clementine.
24/2: One more sprout clementine, plus even more radish.
26/2: One more sprout clementine. Two small sprouts of chili.
27/2: Totally 5 sprouts of chili.
1/3: Re-planted radish & paprika. Two small (probably clementine) sprouts.
