Statistically the majority of people who play video games are adults.
So what's the big deal, somebody spends an hour playing GTA instead of an hour eating cheese and drinking wine? Or an hour watching a documentary on tv?
With the advances in technology and gaming, there's no reason adults can't enjoy video games- when you guys turn 18 you'll realize that (although IMO 'adult' is more a frame of mind than an age).
