I've been Android since I swapped my iPhone 3G way back in 2010 for a Samsung Europa? (don't quote me I can't remember shit... actually, hold on..)

Recovered from my XDA profile.

But yeah, I got quite bored of Android last year after Android L was released, not had a chance to get friendly with Marshmallow yet. I'm not saying it's anything bad, just got bored. Apple brought out the iPhone 6S with iOS 9 and this is the first time I actually got excited by iOS, I've had the phone a good few months now and it's been amazing, I absolutely love it. Looking at the Samsung S7 recently as my contract sim is ending in July and I can choose and upgrade (I bought my iPhone outright and sold my contract phone).

So yeah, all in all good stuff. I recommend the iPhone 6S to anyone, my girlfriend has the 6S plus and I find it to be the lesser of the two in terms of performance and overall durability, but it's still a fantastic phone. At the Apple keynote yesterday they released iOS 9.3 stable, I've been on the beta seed for a while and this update brings even more fantastic features to iOS 9.

I love the overall unity that Apple brings, you know, the whole iCloud thing, sync with any device, anywhere etc. I've passed the stage now where open source was cool and I could open Android up and do whatever I wanted to my phone, now I'm at the stage where I just want some professionalism and some reliability and that's what Apple gives me. For £619 it's my favorite handset I've had for a long time.

Hope you're well Fatetrip :)

I'd also go for iOS' stability over Android's customization options. If only the iPhone prices weren't that high though.

Yes, I'd originally planned on selling my contract phone which was (at the time) the LG G4, and using the money from the sale; purchase the new Nexus 6. But I got attracted by iOS 9 and the overall hype about the iPhone 6S, being 28 now I think the professionalism of it attracts me more than the geeky playing around with stuff under the hood type of experience that Android brings. So I ended up paying an extra £320 for the iPhone because the 16GB model is terrible and for some insane reason they don't do a 32GB so I went for the 64GB, as 128GB is just too much and it was £690 for it, ridiculous.

The iPhone SE is out on the 24th and that will offer a lesser iOS 9.3 experience for £359 in the UK.

I am unsure if I detect sarcasm or not? But, I believe it is at a price that is pretty fair. I mean, you get the same A9 chip that the iPhone 6S has, same motion co-processor, same amount of RAM, same operating system, same pixel density, almost the exact same phone.

According to AnTuTu benchmarking, the SE is actually more powerful than Samsung's current flagship - the Galaxy S7. A phone, I may add; that retails at £569.99.

It's really hard to compare mobile phones by specs, because in most cases you don't really need these specs. How often do you actually play some heavy 3D game on your phone? You'd really want to, like, view a website or something..

Unless you compare the battery and camera specs. Those are pretty important for the average user.

What do you guys think of the new iPhone SE?

How do you compare the camera specs? :) The number of megapixels on the CCD is a useless metric nowadays.

I wonder if the iPhone SE is part of Apple's strategy of gaining ground in China, where there is a distinct difference between people who want really big phones, and people who want regular phones. I think it's a great idea to have a smaller phone, the large phones that are today's flagship devices don't work well for everybody.
