I did like Russia vs. South Korea. Good chances to both teams, and sadly the Russian goalkeeper commited a rather dummy mistake, but he's not to blame... It was a well balanced game after all, so I'd say the draw was alright.
Today will be it. This is the scenario (all of these assuming
Netherlands will beat
Australia today):
1. If
Chile manages to beat
Spain that's it,
Spain's out and both
Netherlands and
Chile would pass (
Chile would get 6 points plus what they could achieve vs.
Netherlands, and the maximum
Spain could get would be 3 points if they beat
Australia).
2. If
Chile ties the game vs.
Spain AND also ties vs.
Netherlands (or beats them, either work although the latter is very unlikely), game over as well, because
Chile would end up with 5 or 7 points,
Netherlands 6, and the maximum
Spain could achive would be 4 if they beat
Australia in the last round.
3. If
Chile ties the game vs.
Spain, BUT loses to
Netherlands,
Spain would need to beat
Australia by a wide margin to overtake
Chile in the goal difference, and/or be helped by
Netherlands (depending on how many goals they score against
Chile). Currently
Spain -4,
Chile +2.
In other words, Spain MUST win today if they want to even have a chance, but I'm pretty sure (and hope) Chile won't make it easy at all. If they end in a draw, Spain will have one foot outside of the cup, and if they lose, d3d. Can't wait, would love if point 1 or 2 happened, haha.
