Thanks. I'll check it out in about an hour :)

I like the map, but it's not really what I was aiming for. It's a bit too chaotic for my taste with all the objects on the road, and on a lot of occasions you can take an easy shortcut avoiding a jump. I'd like to see clean, distinct routes, where players never have to second-guess the route they have to take. This doesn't mean every map has to be easy, but it has to be obvious what the main path is.

Just popped on to check it, its a very old draft they have on the server now, the first draft actually which was a proof of concept really...boggles the mind why that one is on the server at the moment, but anyways.

The updated ones are alot more polished, use alot more of those arrowed crash barriers therefore looking more like a circut and a much shorter revised race.

I'll dig through old backups laters

We have plans to excessively improve races making most of this already possible to pull off. I could elaborate on some of the features we have in mind that haven't been suggested here, but heh, I don't want to be here all night :9~.

But I will point out some additions that will be required in accordance to your suggestions that we haven't thought about:

- Cups

- Time Trials

- Finishing -> Spectating other racers

- Teleporting to previous checkpoint when exiting race

The problem is however, I can't guarantee implementation of these features. The racing improvements will be the biggest part of this new version and will be a lot of work. We already have over 50 improvements / features in mind for racing alone and from past experience I'm sure we'll get to a feature lockdown position where we just want everything stable before all of these already suggested features are even implemented.

What I can say is you'll be able to create a race ingame to match your map and save it so it always loads to the main server, even after a gmx / server restart. If anyone still feels interested in creating these kind of maps: go for it! I'm sure using the features that will be available to you you'll still be able to pull off some nice races from these maps. If lots of people have created lots of these kart tracks at the end, I'll create an ingame menu separate from the race menu at least so people can easily access them and spot the uniqueness to them. Perhaps from there we may implement some of these suggestions in a later version.

I can imagine this will take a lot of time. Not only mapping and developing, but also extensive testing. Although I like the idea, it might be wise to create a whole lot of 'normal' maps first and spend development time on more needed features.

I'm worried about the player levels and hope the new (3.0?) version will attract more players. If the player levels go down even more it might be a waste of time to spend hours on this feature when people will play it maybe once a week. Let's put this idea in the freezer for now. I've got a lot of other maps I'd like to finish first :)
