Or for those who don't mind graphics *that* much they can look into Cod4 multiplayer configs and steal codes from there, and put them into the MW2 mp_config. Very lovely how you can adjust graphics etc with that.

Quote: Modern Warfare 2 will render at 600p
Tuesday, 28 Jul 2009

Modern Warfare 2 will sport a resolution of 600p like its predecessor.

Infinity Ward once again justifies a sub-HD video game during a high definition console era with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The resolution, which is 1024 by 600 pixels, has been confirmed by the pixel counters on the Beyond3D technical forums, who recently brought us the resolution of Ghostbusters: The Video Game on the PlayStation 3. Like its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2 will be 600p on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Modern Warfare 2's native rendering resolution will result in 307,200 pixels less than if it was running at the high-definition 720p.

The question is whether this matters for Infinity Ward's upcoming game? Unlike Ghostbusters, Modern Warfare 2 will be an extremely impressive game both graphically and in its framerate; Infinity Ward is again targeting 60 frames-per-second, when most graphically impressive video games struggle to hit 30 frames-per-second.

A sub-HD rendering resolution is surely a compromise worth taking considering the benefits?

Any truth behind it? :(

Tbh, I don't really get what that means, so if anyone could explain?

That only applies to the console versions, you know, you can't just "upgrade" your PS3, and they let COD6 render with a lower resolution (600p instead of 720p) to get more FPS with the graphic processors of the 360/PS3, so the online gaming will be more fun.

For example, those consoles can't handle GTA IV and start stuttering here and then (PS3 and X360 only get like 22-28 fps in GTAIV). Thats why they turn the HD resolution of MW2 down,  simply to get more FPS so the consoles wouldnt start lagging in massive online fights.

Doesnt matter for PC gamers
