Lemme start:
LVP Public Beta invite!
The Las Venturas Playground Management & Development Team are organizing a public LVP 2.91 beta on the 25th of October, 2 P.M. (GMT+0).
The long awaited SA-MP 0.3 client is almost here, and we want to optimize our game-mode as much as possible, including various new 0.3 functions, and new LVP features.
Client
Our beta test requires to have the latest 0.3 RC client.
The latest version can also be obtained from the sa-mp.com forums.
An alternate download link with the latest version will be posted in this topic before the beta test starts.
Server
To join our test server, you can add the following IP to your favorites list: 85.17.220.2:7778. When the server is online, the server will have a password on it, until the public beta test starts.
Report bugs
If you found a bug, don't report it in-game, although the developers and management members will be in-game as well, we can't take notice of all the reported bugs.
When we start the test, we are opening a 0.3/2.91 Bugreport section at the forums. You can report the bugs in this forum.
Accounts
For this test, we are using a backup from our database. This means that you can't loose or waste your normal account data, it's a separate database.
Using a backup also mean that the used database is not the most up2date database, we want to test the server ourselves before we start, so the database will be at least a few hours old.
When the testing is over
When the test is over, you need to re-install your current 0.2X client again, which can be obtained from www.sa-mp.com.
You can not join 0.2 servers with the 0.3 client.

That seems good. We'll also need to add some info on what's new, or we'll have a load of people spamming ingame "what's new". The more they know beforehand the better they'll be able to test.
We can start gathering a list I guess like now..

You need to have the latest 0.3 RC client, which can be downloaded from <mirror @ SA-MP.nl>.
There will probably be another client, if not full release by then. Change it to: In order to take part in the beta test you will need the latest release candidate of SA:MP. We'll post a link to this prior to the test start.

Use the /bug command for it, and describe it as good as you can. Please take note that the message can't be very long.
We used this system in 2.90 public beta's and it wasn't very good. Most bug reports wasn't even bugs, or didn't contain much detail. We'll have to setup a child board.

Unless the MySQL stuff is finished, this won't be true. We'll have to disable accounts all together.

Can I suggest: Both?
People don't like to do something extra, aka remembering the bug(s), (Maybe even registering @ forum), creating a new topic.. Many people won't do this.
So, if we can have both, we have the best bug-report coverage.

Lol Jay, I actually think RC is clearer (that's what it's referred to everywhere else, stick to that).
Also, let people submit bugs to us ingame also, then we can actually see them first hand and use /bug ourselves. Hell, even the crew can. It's not like we're doing anything better than testing in a public test!
Oh, and let the moderators deal with idiots - insta-ban if anyone breaks the rules.

Oh I misunderstood, I thought the "mirror@sa-mp.nl" meant he was posting a direct link to the current client. I'm presuming some quick webpage will be setupĀ telling people to check back before the test starts cos we're not sure what RC it will be?
@ /bug - I really don't like it. It was just abused in the last public beta, and people were reporting things like "I shoot him, blood comes out, no damage", etc. And since each bug report can only contain the chat limit of SA:MP, I had to go back to so many people, PMing them for further details of the bug. If we do include this option, I think we should just make it send an admin message when a player uses the command, showing the report details, and make it only save when an admin uses it, so that any devs ingame can quickly review any reports before it's saved and find out any additional details.
Also, there's one important thing we're missing: Time of start? We should probably decide that as it get's closer to the test though. Just add a note saying it'll be sometime in the afternoon, but the exact time is tba

Well, let's say 8 PM, GMT+0.
A download mirror will be added the 25th, a few hours before the start.

I disagree. It's on a Sunday. It should be in the afternoon - most people have work and stuff the next day and have stuff todo of a Sunday night.

It's a Sunday - people are with their families etc.
I'd say 6 ~ 8PM GMT wouldn't be too bad, a mix of both. Hell, maybe even 5PM ~ 8PM. Just try and get a lot tested.
