Exactly right GaNgSt4.
I've seen at least 30 people flame faaar more often and harshly than these two.
It seems logical to block someone on msn if they give you a hard time.

Well they weren't banned for
-cheating
-bug abusing
-screwing up the cruise a thousand times
-nading the ship

...there aren't many other rules I can think of.
Nice going. Keep up the good work.
Seeing some of you do not understand the nature of the permanent ban of shoebox and Nerd, let me emphasise on our reasoning. It goes a little further than most of you will know. To emphasise a bit beforehand: their ban is not about the flaming.

Both Nerd[HC4L] as shoebox[HC4L] are quite well known players on Las Venturas Playground. Nerd has been in-game for about 446 hours, whereas shoebox played a total of 41 hours with his current stats, supposedly about 450 hours as well. In this period, Nerd has a total of 42 log-items, whereas shoebox got a total of 60, ranging from bans, to kicks and notes. To go into a bit more detail, Nerd has been banned 14 times and kicked 17 times, where shoebox got banned 22 times and a total of 23 kicks. These are, compared to other players (especially compared to players with under 500 hours of in-game time) extremely high numbers. Evidently, most of these bans and kicks were due to their flaming: not only normal flaming towards other players, but also racism, discrimination and hoping people would get cancer, including LVP Staffmembers.

Next to in-game flaming, they have also received various kicks and bans on other LVP services. Loads of bans on IRC for bad behaviour, swearing and being irritating on Teamspeak was no exception and their behaviour on the forums wasn't examplatory either. Their combined ban-times are estimated at about three months per person, which, considering they barely play for a year on Las Venturas Playground, over 25% of the time they have been around. Even though these are high numbers, flaming alone does not justify a permanent ban.

So what does? Of course, it's known that other clans like BB, sK and the old RT flame a lot as well, and never received clan- and/or permanent bans for it. Some flame even worse than Nerd and shoebox do, isn't it unfair that the HC4L-members got banned where BB/sK and RT didn't? Frankly, no, it is not. Their ban is not about the flaming, it's about the events which occured afterwards. When they got muted in-game for flaming, they'd switch to IRC and use !msg to continue flaming. Often when they got kicked or banned, they'd join #LVP and start seeking the limits of LVP Staff which were around. Trying to dare them in the most disrespected ways, including racism, discrimination, telling them they'd like the crewmember to die from cancer and making fun of the crew behind their backs.

Why should we provide a free service to these two persons, if they do not respect nor follow our rules and crewmembers? Basically, we don't have to, and have therefore withdrew their right to use any of the Las Venturas Playground related services.

A small fact-sheet to clarify the happenings which led to this, purely for the sake of emphasising that this ban is not solely about the flaming:
  • A total of 36 bans and 40 kicks due to flaming, swearing in general, racism, discrimination and disrespecting the LVP Staff.
  • shoebox offered the sum of € 2000 to a crewmember for banning four individuals from Las Venturas Playground, permanently.
  • Nerd has made various references between LVP Staff and people who played important roles in the second World War on the German side (the nazi's), as well as saying that LVP Staff should die from cancer and aids.
  • Spreading rumours and so-called "facts" about LVP Staff behind their backs, making fun of them.
  • shoebox blatantly tried setting up Terror so he'd get permanently banned as well (doesn't that beat the purpose of a clan?)

If you can give any good arguments as to why we should allow these two persons back on Las Venturas Playground, please, share them with us. A permanent ban usually means that they get banned for at least two months, after wihch the ban gets discussed again. The reason behind the clanban is quite easy too, certain HC4L members follow Nerd and shoebox brainlessly and refuse to take no as an answer.

Any flaming, "bad-ass" comments or whatsoever in this topic will be deleted and answered with a warning, moderated- or mute status. If you feel you have something useful to add to this discussion, properly backed up and without any inappropriate language, I hereby invite you to do so.

There's a realistic chance they'll be allowed back on at the end of January, perhaps early February. There is a limit however, you can't ban someone for three months in a community which only a very small part of the people stick around in. If they continue to be idiots in the time their ban runs (e.g. continue to bother crew, players or anyone else related to LVP), we simply won't unban them. It's a normal ban, just with no time specified, so I guess calling it a ban with an undefined timespan would be correct too.
