Health/Armour restore pickups in LVP have always been a great addition. They have proven to be successful in being highly useful for both RPG'ers and deathmatchers. However one problem that has occurred from them especially in the past couple of months is pickup laming. Basically when a few people have been fighting for a while, it can in some cases take a while to reduce a players armour/health and prepare to kill them, however if they are fighting near a restore pickup which is something that occurs in many situations, it ruins the fight by making it unfair and boring, as-well as that it causes a lot of flaming.

We need some ideas on how we can stop deathmatchers from ruining fights by collecting a restore pickup. I had a few possible ideas, but there are advantages and disadvantages when looking at both types of players:

  • Pickup sync. When a player gets a pickup, it destroys for everyone and respawns at the same time for everyone. Only with selected pickups though, and an increased respawn time to 6 minutes.



  • Random pickups. Armour pickups are replaced with question marks. This would only really work if pickups where synced, but basically a random thing happens when you get it. Sometimes it could restroe your armour 100%, or restore it 10%. Othertimes it could take your armour, kill you, explode, etc. Therefore, pickup lamers would be taking a chance when getting a pickup.

  • Pickup relocation/removal. Not all offcourse, but certain pickups could be relocated to places such as on the ship.

  • Pickup count limits. When a player gets a pickup each one has a certain limit, and eventually after getting so many it simply doesn't respawn.






Anyone have any other suggestions? Pickup laming is just one of the things that ruin deathmatch in LVP in my opinion.

Not a good idea imo: Say you're fighting at gang base, you won the fight and want to prepare for the next time they come. Say you're with 5 people. That would take you minimum 5*6=30 minutes to prepare again..?

As far as it would be funny sometimes, it would be very annoying as well. See my above point as an example, instead of being able to refill your health/armor, you'll maybe die or only get x health/armor back.
What do I have to do with it? :+

A place like ship may seem nice at first, but, it would make more people run onto the ship(as there will be even more fights around it probably) and thus more people getting hit whilst being at the ship.

Not respawning at all doesn't seem like a good idea to me. If you play for a long time(chevy, for example :+) and fight a lot too, you refill a lot too, normal. If they don't respawn after a while...
[u]Suggestion for making this one better(in case you didn't already mean that): It respawns x times, but when you die, it will restart(x times again).



Anyone have any other suggestions? Pickup laming is just one of the things that ruin deathmatch in LVP in my opinion.

Is it possible to make it that you have to buy it or something? Like /buy 100000 (100k) and it then gives you a timer like with /taxi. The less HP you have, the more you have to wait.

Agreed on all points with estroe. :+

a command sounds nice :Y

/heal or something? :+ harder to abuse, yet not too hard to get either

I like that, it might be a bit to easy though. You can just be driving around and /heal yourself anywhere. However, we could as you said add a timer on it like the taxi, Ambulance Arrival. And again based of the taxi, if you use it within the last 6 mins it takes ages to arrive? But we would have to make it really expensive in my opinion so it's not used to often. And when I say really expensive, I'm talking around 5 mil! We could add that as-well as the pickups imo, but, change the pickups so that they can only be picked up, once. (Per-player) that way people will save them for emergencies  8)

I mean walking into a pickup, and then typing /heal, kinda like /buy when buying a prop, except this is free :+

Find an object that the player has to climb on, like the sign @ the gang base use to be. That way they have to climb, leaving plenty of time for the other player to kill.

And for Fight Club, jut move the pick ups up to the next level of the hotel.
