Another... - Blackbean - 11-22-2010 I got my computer back today and tryed to boot it up and ran into a problem. There was a screen saying that hardware has changed and i need to boot into safe mode or smth like that, but if i do it comes up with another screen, a blue one, saying: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF789E528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" Please help me! All help is required. Re: Another... - xBlueXFoxx - 11-22-2010 (11-22-2010, 05:51 PM)Blackbean link Wrote: I got my computer back today and tryed to boot it up and ran into a problem. BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), really... 90% of all BSOD issues normally rely in the harddrive, other than that it can be caused by damaged or incompatible hardware. The BSOD is a pretty hard issue to overcome sometimes, check all your cables and make sure they are plugged in firmly. Another thing, if you recently added and new parts or drivers to your computer, maybe if you can manage to boot it into safe mode, run a system restore to remove the driver causing the issue. Also, check your ram, if you have mixed memory such as "DDR2 667 and DDR2 blah blah" running at a different speed, some motherboards will actually run slower, and can cause a few issues. One other thing that may cause the BSOD (also harddrive related) is that you could possibly has corrupt data. (That's why the screen says scan for virus's) The best solution for that really is to just back up your data and reinstall windows. But you can always throw some attempts to repair your pc, for example running a register cleaner such as CCleaner and run some scans with it. I'm not the best with the BSOD, but this is normally what I do in this case. Regards, -xBlueXFoxx Re: Another... - Blackbean - 11-22-2010 I'll check the cabling in a minute, i am using my old harddrive and i though that is the problem but my mum said that i can't buy a new one until an expert hasnt seen this thing. Thanks Bluefox, i'll see what i can do! Regards, Blackbean Re: Another... - Weezy - 11-22-2010 Assuming you have followed all of the instructions shown on the blue screen to a T, I'd have a shot at recovering whatever I can and then reformat and repartition it to start from scratch. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend getting the hardware itself looked at by someone who knows what they're doing. Re: Another... - Blackbean - 11-22-2010 The computer is brand new, i havnt even used it cause it had a problem with motherboard(now fixed), i'm probably getting a new hardrive soon since it would be the only logical explanation. Re: Another... - Weezy - 11-23-2010 Have you tried what it said about running a check disk? Also, it might be worth re-seating the RAM, that's often a common cause of BSOD. Re: Another... - jerico - 11-23-2010 So from what i understand here. Is that you got a whole new pc except the harddrive. You didn't format your harddrive? And just plugged it in and tried to run the OS on it from your old computer? greetz, jerico Re: Another... - Blackbean - 11-23-2010 I tryed formating it, but it wouldn't let me. I'm getting a new one soon. Re: Another... - Danny - 11-24-2010 It's possible that the BSOD is a result of faulty RAM chips, or two different ram chips being used together. That was the case with my old computer. Did you buy the computer new from a supermarket, is it relatively old, or did you have it built for you? If it's one of the latter two, it's possible that it's a problem with your RAM. Try downloading MemTest from here and run a diagnostic to see if you get any errors. If you bought it from a supermarket, this probably isn't the case. Re: Another... - Blackbean - 11-24-2010 I built it myself, but i bough a new harddrive today and its installing windows at the moment. I'm hoping it's all going smooth to the end. EDIT: It's workin now but it wont let me connect to internet, do i have to do something? |
