What about the brake pads/discs ? Where will u get suitable ones, straight from Tesla? And the oil for brakes? And the air/cabin filters? Btw, there is oil in Tesla - the reductor between the rear wheels, also, the coolant for battery pack...

Not sayin Tesla isnt worth it, but its not totally maintenance free.

Very good looking and performing car, thumbs up for the choice  d:)b

Thanks Zaibatsu.

Actually, I don't see having to redo the brakes.  The regenerative braking is very strong, and all the times I've driven one (a family friend has one), the only time I've ever used the brakes is when I come to a complete stop.  They should last the life of the car.  In fact, they are used so little that it's recommended that the owner really stand on the brakes at least once a week to knock off the surface rust that forms on the disk from not being used!  The brake fluid should last at least 100K miles too.  I'll have to check on the cabin filter.  I hadn't even thought about that.  The coolant for the battery and the fluid in the "transmission" is included in the service plan and warranty from Tesla, as is most maintenance for 8 years.  Tires are the real worry with me.  Lots of owners aren't getting very many miles from theirs, but I'm sure much of that is because of the temptation to push it because it's so much fun to drive fast.  That's another reason I got the 19 inch wheels instead of the 21's, and the regular 85 model and not the performance version.

I know I'm taking a chance with it, but I was also taking a chance when I invested part of my settlement money in Tesla stock early last year when it was in the $30's.  I sold a bunch about a month ago for over $200.  That's what's paying for a good part of it.  :D

2002 Dodge Neon ES. Got her 3 years ago when I was 19. Since then, regular tune-ups and maintenance has kept her in great shape.
