Regarding your privacy! - Turkey - 09-06-2010 ![]() Basically if you're logged in with your Google account on YouTube or Google.com/de/nl/fr and search something on the internet, the web protocol from Google saves everything at your Google account. The web protocol is activated by default, which means you have to disable it yourself to stop it from collecting all the stuff you have searched. I had never really noticed that for years, until 2 months ago. I had a hell lot of pages of searched items dating back to mid 2009. I thought I would share it with you since I guess that almost everyone has a YT account and thus a Google account. To deactivate it click on "Pause" or something like that - I got it in German, which says "Pausieren". Also don't forget to delete all the searched items before deactivating it. Tried it with my Youtube info but it doesnt work, tells me invalid username or password Re: Regarding your privacy! - jerico - 09-07-2010 If you logout at youtube and you log in at youtube again. You will notice you will see a message if you would like to link the account to a google account. That's the part were you get tricked into getting a google account. greetz, jerico Re: Regarding your privacy! - Hitman - 09-07-2010 eh, so if i dont link it i dont have my data spied out by google? Re: Regarding your privacy! - Nanook - 09-07-2010 I turned that shit off when it came out. 100% not necessary since I rarely use other computers than my own. If I need to save a link I email it to myself. Language independent link: https://www.google.com/history/?hl= |
