Map Designer SA-MP Map Editor Re: Mapping Resources - Sander - 07-26-2009 rcg - Roller Coaster Generator plugin for editor Download MTA M Nightly build (Current: mtasadm-1.0-r1365.exe) @ http://nightly.multitheftauto.com/ Download MTA M Data files (Current: multitheftauto_data-r1290.exe AND multitheftauto_net-r982.zip) @ http://code.google.com/p/multitheftauto/downloads/listDownload MTA M Resource files (Current: multitheftauto_resources-r280.zip) @ http://code.google.com/p/multitheftauto-resources/downloads/listExtract the Resources files, and copy all the folders to (Default folder): C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\deathmatch\resources\ You probably need to create the resources\ directory first. Extract both the Data files. Run the (Current) file: multitheftauto_data-r1290.exe Copy the extracted files from multitheftauto_net-r982 to C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas\ and overwrite the 2 excisting net.dll files. (1 in the server\ and 1 in the MTA\ folder.) Now download the MTA Editor 1.0 via http://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=24838 Extract rcg.zip, and copy the folder rcg\ to: C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\deathmatch\resources\ Now, start MTA DM, and host a new game. As resource, select Admin. Do not select rcg yet! Start the server, and register yourself: /register user pass Quit the game, and add your user to the admin list. http://development.mtasa.com/index.php?title=Deathmatch_Server_Manual#Adding_administrators Once you are admin, start MTA DM again. Host a server, and select the Admin and Editor resources. After you entered your server, type in the chat: /login username password. You should have admin rights now, press P to open the admin panel. Under Resources, find rcg, and start it. Close the admin panel by pressing P again. Back in the editor, switch to command mode (F) and move your mouse to the bottomleft, and scroll (Icons will change), so you switch to rcg. And now.. have fun
Re: Mapping Resources - Jay - 06-04-2010 Does anyone use RCG? It just... doesn't work for me ![]() I add a control panel, then click on track. It opens up a dialog, I click OK, and nothing. I've tried adding other control panels and playing with the settings and it just doesn't work oll:Using the latest version @ google code Re: Mapping Resources - Chillosophy - 06-05-2010 I use it sometimes, but I have so much trouble aligning the coasters I decided I'd do everything manually. In case others have trouble too, here's a full guide (installation instructions are in Sanders post above) First add the resource to active: ![]() Scroll with your mousewheel on the bottomleft and you get the RCG icons: ![]() Set your first control point (beginning of the loop/jump) ![]() Do this again to set your second control point (end of the loop/jump) ![]() Now click on the track icon to set the properties ![]() objectNum: Amount of objects to fill the loop/jump controlPointBegin: Click browse to select the first control point controlPointEnd: Click browse to select the second control point Click OK and you get something like this: ![]() Selecting the arrows that are not in the center control the force and relative position/rotation of the loop/jump: ![]() Click F3 to get those properties: ![]() This is all I know so far. Documentation is really scarce and after seeing some tutorials on Youtube I'm sure you can create loops/jumps way easier. Re: Mapping Resources - Jay - 06-05-2010 Cleared it up - thanks!
Re: Mapping Resources - Chillosophy - 06-07-2010 Something I found out a few weeks ago; you can lock movement of object to axes (X,Y,Z). It works so much easier if you're creating a race gamemode. For stuff like islands it's easier to not lock them. If you also had no idea this was possible, give it a try. It's a major timesaver. Go to Options > Movement: ![]() Another thing that might come in handy, press E to go to high sensitivity mode. This will make it easier to select some hard-to-select objects like fences. The cursor changes to red. If you don't need it, don't use it. It makes selecting regular objects harder. One thing I never tried is multiplayer mapping. I think that could be interesting too, if we create a map with a bunch of people
Re: Mapping Resources - Jay - 06-07-2010 Useful @ Locking, I'll give that a try, thanks ![]() Good idea! We could set up a (free ) server for that with serverFFS and organise a time for us all to meet up and make a kick ass map ![]() Re: Mapping Resources - HoldeN - 06-07-2010 I really would like that Jay^ Re: Mapping Resources - Kase - 06-07-2010 It would be great
