Development speeding up - Fireburn - 05-10-2009

Hi there,

It has been a while since you last heard from us in a blogpost, so I will take this blog to date you up on everything that's been happening and more. As you saw in this blogpost we have been looking for new developers.
We are proud to announce we now have two more active developers, being Felle and Matthias. If you haven't congratulated them yet, here is your chance. I would like to wish you two the best of luck, and we hope you will fix many bugs and add lots of features.
I would also like to thank everyone else who applied, we really appreciate that you took the time to apply.

So, what has been done scriptwise the last weeks? As you can see on our Changelog quite some bugs have been fixed, which is great. There are still some bugs in the gamemode, which we will try to fix as soon as possible, including players losing stuff when they crash. With two new developers things are going much faster, and we can fix bugs at a faster rate than before. After we have finished fixing these bugs we will go on to adding more interesting features for everyone.

We are currently working on a plan which involves how we are going to develop in the coming months, and how we will communicate. You will hear more about this later.
As for now, we will continue making the LVP gamemode cooler and better, and with our new developers this is speeding up.

On behalf of the Las Venturas Playground Development Team,
// Fireburn, Lead Developer

Yeah, it seems to be broken. :Y)

Re: Development speeding up - TEF - 05-11-2009

Well, first off, let me just congratulate Felle and Matthias on becoming official Las Venturas Playground developers. You two have most certainly earned it (and they fixed most of my bugs that were reported months ago, before 2.9 was even live). :+ No, but seriously, congratulations. :)

Alright, here's what happened...

So, right, on the weekends I use my failing piece of shit laptop (Failtop on IRC) to be able to both communicate with and view other people on IRC. Because of this, I tend to use "/crew" (which is an in-game command to send a message to our crew channel, by the way) to talk instead of switching between keyboards. Oh, and you all know how I "sing" in the main chat, right? Yeah, well, I do that with "/crew" all the time as well. (There's seriously nothing more hilarious than "Rick Rolling" the entire crew channel.) Dennis, always being the one to complain, bans me in-game then bitches about how I spam on IRC. Wesley, being the procreative little fuck he is, decides to say that something could be added to make me not able to use the "/crew" command. This was added in by the evil development team, but when they updated the main server they realized that it blocked every crew member from being able to use it. They had to fix it once more, so they removed the so-called feature and updated the server yet again. What could go wrong next? Well, there's still a bug that makes Nuwani inconsistent with the sending of crew messages from in-game. Good fight, development. :)

Oh, and as a small addition, this is the reason the server was being restarted every five minutes last evening. :+ Also, before anyone decides to make assumptions, the insults I've made to both Dennis and Wesley are obviously mere jokes, as I love them too much to actually mean what I said. O+

Rickrolling is old as wolly mammoths.

So when is that feature is being put back in? Because that bug is annoying me everytime I go ingame.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the gamemode and Nuwani regarding the /crew command. Think about it :+
