I have Nod32.
It is made by Eset
It updates every day and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day

I find it interesting that I have a desktop that runs all day (and gets used about an hour a day) with out any security program. The same goes for my windows partition on my laptop that I use a lot. I've never had any problems caused to ***ware at all, and XP hasn't been reinstalled for over a year.

What is the difference in our actions that causes you to need AVG, Symantec, or Norton?

Personally, I find that bit defender is the best. Nothing gets past it, it it very easy to use, has a really nice interface and more! There are different packages, Antivirus, Firewall, Internet Security and Total Internet Security. I use Total Internet security, and it has many features aswell as just firewalls and stuff, such as a registery cleaner and disk defrag. It isn't free though.

Apparently AVG/Nod32 messes with your windows files. It was also in the paper today.

I use Avira free and don't have any problem with it at all really.

But one thing is sure: Never take Norton.

What's wrong with norton?

And would Kaspersky be a good choice?

Re: Anti-virus - Darkfire - 11-12-2008

Norton = a virus, do not ever install norton!! I had to reinstall windows because of it. AVG ftw

Re: Anti-virus - Zezima - 11-12-2008

NOD32 ftw

Re: Anti-virus - [UvH]Hitman - 11-12-2008

BitDefender > Kaspersky > all > Norton.

Thats it.

PS: Why dont you download the 30-days Trial of BitDefender, just to see if you like it? (oh and before installing a new antivirus REMOVE everything of other antivirus programs, otherwise your pc will slow down or get fucked up.
