yeah but its never very good, and its only good for one use... if he doesn't place the heat sink on right the first time the computer will shut down as soon as he starts it, and then he'd have to clean teh old paste off, and reapply thermal paste/grease on the cpu and reseat the heat sink. a tube of thermal compound is very cheap anyway.

I took my heatsink off a million times and its still working.

Without re-aplying thermal compound? Well you're a very naughty boy. :Y)

Plus placing the heatsink is like the easiest part of assembling the computer.

I strongly disagree. Placing the GFX card is much easier imo.

Anyway, Tr1pin if you're willing to spend $220 on a CPU I would definatly not go for any of them, I would go for the Phenom 720.

That quad core is slow apparently and the Phenom 720 beats all them Core2Duo's you suggested.

Why would I?

The 2 cores in the Phenom 720 will match up as the Core2Duo's in performance but then you would have an extra core to do other things in, so you're paying for 1 more core to do extra things at the same price of them Core2Duo's

E8400 would completely blow away any tri core.
