I don't think TigerDirect even ships to Austrailia, and also, yeah the prices are different out in Austrailia, I thought it looked overpriced but I had in my mind that it was US dollars when it was not.

Enough babbling about that
Can you answer my questions?

Re: Upgrading My PC* | EDIT: Building PC - Help with parts. - Aaron - 05-14-2009

Looks like the drives are IDE,They will work as long as your motherboard has a IDE slot and yes they should fit just right in that case.

I'm assuming you have a hardrive?Because if you are planning to use the two IDE optical drives, most motherboards now days only have one IDE slot. One can be the master while the other can be the slave drive.

If your getting a hardrive go with a SATA input, there for you can still use both of your optical drives.

Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L Intel Mainboard - 4x DDR2 / 4x Sata / 1x IDE / Gigabit Lan
^^ Is motherboard.

Thats 1x IDE, so I can only use one of those drives I showed you? Do i have to use both?

Aaron, there are some things in a video card that you cannot increase through overclocking. Also, the kind of performance boost you get from overclocking a video card does not even come close to the boost from overclocking a CD2 +1Ghz.

Re: Upgrading My PC* | EDIT: Building PC - Help with parts. - Aaron - 05-14-2009

You can use both but it is not needed unless your burning disks etc.

I couldn't tell weather if one of your optical drives was a dvd-rw drive,if you've got a dvd drive then surely use that one instead of a regular cd-r drive.

If your planning to put the computer together yourself, make sure you touch the metal of your case each time before messing with your components. The static electricity could interfere/possibly fry your components, just to let ya know before hand.

That's very true.By meaning you can get the 4830 to perform as the 4850/4870 if you know what your doing,Its all over the net that the 4830 are highly overclock able.I ordered one yesterday to give it a oc and try it out plus being $30 bucks cheaper,it was a great deal :)

I doubt that you can overclock a HD4830 onto 4870 niveau - there is way more in videocards than just core/shader/ram clocks that you can overclock.

All those cars have TMUs, TAUs, ROPs, shader units, memory interfaces etc etc that cant be changed. So, if you overclock your  Core/Shader/Ram clocks by 20%, your card isnt 20% faster.. and wont come close to a 4870.

The 4830 has 640 shader units, the 4870 has 800 of them, which gives the 4870 massive more performance in games.  overclocking is cool, but unless you overclock pretty hardcore, you wont notice the overclocking with videocards.

my GTX 260  Core/Ram/Shader  has normally 576/2000/1242 MHz -  i overclocked it to 756/2380/1512 MHz - thats a pretty sick overclock and you barely notice it ingame.

Though the overclocking of CPUs is pretty sick, i overclocked my Q9550 from 4x 2.83GHz to 4x 3.8GHz, which really gives an awesome performance boost

I don't care if it runs on very high, just along as it runs. But not like major f'n lag, something in the middle.
Which shall I get, http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=35796 or http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=37456

And I'll get http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=37981 in a couple of months.

So it's:
GFX Card ($137.50) http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=35796
PSU ($162.00) http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=74&products_id=30765
Mother ($115.00): http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=36_62&products_id=37779
RAM ($82.50): http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=115_23&products_id=25249
Case ($56.10): http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=125_126&products_id=35146

With the CPU, i want recommendations.
Here:
$177.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_28&products_id=36532
$207.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_28&products_id=36531
$248.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_28&products_id=33689
$249.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_28&products_id=29360
Theres a Duo 2.8GHz there, Duo 2.93 GHz, Quad 2.33GHz, Duo 3.0GHz.

Total's:
Duo 2.8GHz /w others : $710.00
Duo 2.9GHz /w others : $740.00
Duo 3.0GHz /w others : $782.00
Quad 2.3GHz /w others:$781.00

What do you think?

These are proper questions, which I've asked and No one has answered.

[b]Does this DVD Drive work in the case i've selected?:

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1026/s7300240s.jpg

Do i need a proper HDD or can I use a portable one?.

Will these combinations be good to run IV low GFX?
I answered to those questions, you just didnt read.
You need proper HDD.
DVD-ROM will work.
E8400 is best one out of those CPU's.
go with HD 4830
you will be able to run gta 4 on high settings imo, or medium at least.

When you get GTX 260, you will be able to run gta 4 on max settings, i think.

If your assigning a PC yourself, make sure you go through a lot of videos on youtube, thats an advice from me. Make sure you get thermal paste too, you need to put it on the processor. Well just watch videos on youtube on building an pc.

Where did you hear that? Even if you overclock it, it is not going to be better than the newer cards. It can come close, but overcoming it is no can do. Specially 4830 overclocked can be better than 4870? lmao, i laughed at that.

Re: Upgrading My PC* | EDIT: Building PC - Help with parts. - FarePak - 05-14-2009

Theres already thermal paste on the stock coolers, he won't be needing a aftermarket cooler if he isn't gonna overclock.
