I think if you have L4D2 you won't play L4D online, + you get 2 (or 1, not sure) L4D1 missions in L4D2.

Only the No Mercy campaign from L4D1 is in L4D2 afaik.
On a side note, you _might_ just want to play L4D1 just to get a better idea of the overall 'story' of the game, but that's probably not worth the extra money.
