I'm guessing you have the same problem without the mod? If not - you fail. If you do, what you need to do is turn off your hardware acceleration.
You can do this by going to start (assuming you have windows) then to run, type dxdiag in the run box and hit enter, when dxdiag opens up and it's loaded everything, go to the sound tab and find your soundcard .. turn the sound acceleration tab right down until there is no acceleration. Should solve it, worked for me.
