+1 on the pluspoints on forum join idea. It'll certainly attract those who wish to continue playing as a regular to the forums, and also if anyone fucks around and gets banned from the forum then they'll lose out on the pluspoints as a punishment.

Thing is, people sign up on the forum and never visit again. It'll bring some more but a lot of inactive people, won't do that much.

Not ALL of them. 50% of them will leave never come back again, and the other 50% might visit constantly.
