I've really advanced my map
I have huge gem, coal, iron and redstone mines, and mine-carts running through them; I have a workshop, a rollercoaster and another cart track leading from my spawn point to my main house in case I die; I have about 4 houses, mob traps, an abattoir (pig meat processing plant) green house...
It all looks great, I'll get some photos up.

XOn a more serious note, I haven't played Minecraft in a while, after I had most of my stuff built I was going to make a huge mineshaft, but since I was finding so much iron on the surface I never got to it. Which is a shame, 'cause I've found a shitton of natural caves on my map.
