Jay's idea is nice, but as some of you stated, I as a lamer could just shoot the barrels before refilling and nothing would happen... I think it'd be better either placing the refill pickups in a harder place to access, eliminate most of them, OR, you could combine an area checker and a timer: this is, adding a small area for the pickups and a timer. When the player enters that area, if he has fired a bullet recently (just like the command abuse prevention) he won't see any pickup, but if he hasn't (which means he wasn't fighting recently) he'll be able to refill. This wouldn't eradicate the laming but would lower it, since while you wait x seconds camping in the refill area or just run around without shooting waiting for the pickups to appear you'll most likely be shot to death. That way they don't respawn for the player until they die. It's easy enough to buy health or armour in ammunation so people can still refill if needed. Ship, fc and GB pickups should remain type 2. Since the introduction of streamed pickups (i.e. SA-MP 0.3) most pickup types no longer work. If you leave the stream radius and re-enter the pickup will re-appear.
