c# is hands down the best programming language i have tried my hands on. Hitman, if u still interested in programming, look into C#. Peter has it spot on. Plus you can easily download some c# 101 ebooks. Or if u like, i can send u some of mine. they helped me a lot when i started C#.

ebooks? They like, in PDF format or something? Care to send 'em to me, too? I'm still open to try and learn programming again. I never got far with it, but, I'm willing to give it a go with some ebooks. My E-mail's in my profile :)

@OneManArmy

from what iv'e read, C# is one of the hardest things to learn when you have no previous knowledge about other languages - but i still would be glad if you sent your ebooks to me!

My personal advise to you hitman would be that if you are in no hurry to learn programming ( unless you are taking a course in school and u have a timelimit ), go over VB first, but not in too much detail. look at the simplest examples and understand them before moving onto more comlex examples. I know it helped me a lot because i started out with VB, moved onto VB.net, then moved to java and c++ ( only used it for uni coursework ) until i finally settled on c#. There are tons of website out there where u can download example codes. Once you understand and start writing your own syntax and test applications in vb, it will be easier for you to move on to and understand c#. I say this out of personal experiance. As for the ebooks, let me send u a pm about that.

Thanks for  the PM, i'll check that out later. For now im too busy with school to do programming, but i guess i have more free time in 1-2 weeks.

I am in no hurry to learn programming :)  although i cant get Visual Basic to run, and im not really up to reinstall my windows.

Do you have .NET installed?

Re: Any programmers out there? - Hitman - 09-20-2009

I have everything installed - the reason why i cant get Visual Studio 2008 to run is because i had a previous version (2005) installed, which doesnt uninstall correctly and fucks the registry up so you cant install newer versions anymore. This is a known bug, although there doesnt seem to be any official microsoft fix for it - there are many posts in forums by people that have the same problems and tried to fix it, but none of their ways to fix did work for me.

Only thing that would help would be reinstalling Vista, which i definitely won't in the next few weeks.

I have them both installed and running, so that should not be the problem.

It is, there are many many MANY people out there that have the same problem, (i spent many hours googling for a possible fix) and all of them had the problem after deinstalling Visual Studio 05 and installing Visual Studio 08 later.

You're lucky then :)
