I always turn on cooler boost while gaming. Right now, after undervolting the processor by -1.75V, using Comfort mode & cooler boost, I get temps of about 80-83 on Battlefield 1 (86-93 when I switch to Sport mode) and around 70-78 on an old game that runs absolutely fine on 10-12 year old PCs.

How old is the laptop? Did it work perfectly fine until this moment?

13 months. It's always worked fine; I rarely played games on it before, and didn't bother checking temps when I did.

If it's 13 months old I think you shouldn't have disassemble it, because your warranty still works? Maybe you should have just brought it to the store you bought it from and then MSI would take it to the repair.

I'd recommend you to buy a cooling pad to have a better airflow (CM Storm SF-17 Gaming Laptop Cooling Stand).

Format your pc.

I did that a couple of weeks ago, but that was before I discovered I had heating issues. Not sure how that'd be useful, though.
