Re: Football Topic - Munch - 06-05-2011 (06-05-2011, 09:03 AM)azerty link Wrote: jack wilshere is world class mate I never said he was crap. I just said how annoying it is how pundits worship him as if he was a God like player. You would think he's Zinedine Zidane the way they talk about him. Re: Football Topic - iLz.12 - 06-05-2011 but hes very young, he will improve a lot Re: Football Topic - Munch - 06-08-2011 Liverpool signed Sunderland's Jordan Henderson for £20m. That's about £13m plus David N'Gog (who is valued at £7m-£8m). It's a decent signing...the price is questionable but I trust in Kenny. I liked N'Gog but he was too inconsistent and didn't fight for the ball. He was kind of like Babel. Only problem is with us signing Henderson, where would Aquilani play? He'd have no place and I don't fancy having a £22m player on the bench. And same could be said about Charlie Adam if we get him. We need wingers! We have enough quality in the midfield. Best of luck to David N'Gog (he'll do well at Sunderland) and welcome Jordan Henderson (he'll do well at Liverpool)! And...uhm...I've always loved this quote since I first read it a couple years ago: Quote:Being an Everton fan on transfer deadline day is like being in detention at school. You have to watch through the window while everyone else plays outside... You could replace Everton fan with Arsenal fan if you want. Edit: And lol at this video. Ryan Giggs : Brothers For Life When looking at the video, press 6 for the funniest part. ![]() Okay pressing numbers doesn't work for embedded videos. Go to the video's link and press 6 if you need to. Re: Football Topic - azerty - 06-09-2011 20mil for an unknown guy ? Re: Football Topic - Munch - 06-09-2011 He's not unknown. He's not world class but not unknown. He's a very promising player (who could become world class), and English players are always highly priced. He is also a proven player who has experience in the Premier League and had the 2nd most assists the season just gone. He's put some nice balls in. He's 20 years old (turning 21 this month), will be playing for the U21s England side in this summer's tournament and has also played for England's senior team. Re: Football Topic - dappamikey - 06-09-2011 Wow Liverpool must have a lot of money to waste, £55 million on two (Carrol and Henderson) prospects is a hell of a gamble. And yes English players are way overpriced, £17m for Phil Jones, £24m for Bent, who we bought for £16.5m and sold for £12m, £24m for Lescott. I can only imagine what it would cost to buy Leighton Baines in this ridiculous climate. On another topic, figures today revealed the wage expenditure for all PL clubs has risen to a staggering 68% of total revenue. Manchester City actually managed to exceed their total revenue with their wage expenditure alone (107 . There's only so long you can keeping upping that ante by milking the fans and I for one would love to see a wage cap introduced alongside UEFA's financial fair play rules being introduced in the 2012-13 season. I hope it fucks man city up the arse and they go out of business and are never heard of again, not that I'm bitter.
Re: Football Topic - Munch - 06-09-2011 Well Carroll was more of a panic buy. If we had more time we would probably have got the price down to £20m. Still a lot, but he's English and Liverpool always like to get ripped off. But yeah, John Henry and NESV is pretty rich and is willing to give a decent budget. I hope we don't just get a bunch of overpriced English players. I don't care if they're English as long as they're good enough and are willing to play for us...and willing to play at all. Re: Football Topic - azerty - 06-10-2011 How mutch are Wilshere , Walcott worth ? 50 and 45 mil ? |
