I have a question -
It's hard for me to tell what in general is the accepted attitude or ettiquette when it comes to buying props. Obviously you're not going to purposely go after any one players props, but often when I come into a game I'll buy as many props as I can to earn enough money to get my spawn weapons, by the time I have all the weapons I need my props have brought in the money to cover what I spent and I don't wipe out all my money that way. I like to keep enough money so that I can buy props and ammo as soon as I start playing - and except for a few favorite props if I feel like it, after that intial buy out binge I let them go and they're bought back by others in no time. Props come and go unless ur willing to stand guard over them and even then they can be bought right from under ya...
Well here is where my question comes in... I've noticed that some folks are the same as me, they don't care if you buy their props -other folks go postal if you buy their props - they take it personally or something- some people seem to feel it's tantamount to cheating -
After people expressing disappointment that I bought a property that was theirs I started to ask people if they minded, I noticed that while I was asking someone if it was alright, someone else was buying the property while I was asking if I could. Most of the people I asked didn't care or seemed suprised to be asked - but as soon as I buy a prop w/o asking it seems like someone is sending me messages asking me why I bought their property.
I scanned the rules and don't see it even mentioned - which gives me the impression that buying props is part of the game and as long as the property is for sale it's available to buy without hard feelings.
So what is the deal? Is there some kind of "unwritten rule"? If there is, what is it? When is it alright? When is it not alright? Is it people just complaining or do they have a legitimate complaint? Do you have a 'rule' that you follow? Do you care if someone buys a property of yours and what's your attitude about it?
