Las Venturas Playground 3.0

Yo Developers,

As you probably noticed there are just two people who have actually commited code, even though the team exists for over a month already. Until this point it has been, with no offence intended, one big disappointment. Developers come and go, but barely anything changes: there are just a few people who actually commit new code.

In the coming months I have alot of spare time, which I'd ideally use to developer features for the new gamemode. For example, I would love to create 3.0 on both SA-MP as MTA at the same time, eventually running two large servers on both modifications - the same gamemode in Pawn and in LUA. The question is: how are we going to do that? I'm not going to developer if I know that noone else is going to do so, that's a large demotivication. I think it would be ideal to create a LUA-interpreter for SA-MP as a plugin and run the same gamemode, only simulated on SA-MP. This would take quite some time to create, and again, I need motivation for that.

To return to the subject at hand: this, or any other idea, is only going to work if the rest of the team actually does something. We have 12 developers, one of which stopped yesterday evening after me kicking him out, and in this period two people have made commits: me and Pugwipe. That is not going to work, and therefore I have a request for all of you to answer upon;

When are you going to start actively developing, and what is the reason you haven't done so (or have large breaks) in the past?

As stated, me and Pugwipe don't have to answer this, tomozj, pdescobar and oostie are doing a good job as well with developing, but I would appericiate them answering as well. Thank you.

I started developping the Ammunation some weeks ago. I worked on that and made quite some progress on the GUI. Unfortunately I missed quite a bit of school due to being ill and camp, so I've been busy with catching up. I have almost finished with that. I've got quite some time coming and will continue developping soon. I'm sorry about they delay, but school stays priority number one.

Well, school has been a bit busier as I had expected. I do however, have free times at home, where I do get things done.  Currently, I have a good portion of the skeleton done of my code.  I'm really sorry for not having more free time, school just sucks :(

I certainly hope to have more free time soon, and I understand your frustration.

Edit: I'd also like to add, regardless of my lack of free time.  Which is also why doing this small portion works for me :+D

Explained on IRC. As I said though - yes, school sucks, but it's the most important thing in your life at some ages. But, again, I said I'll be more active as time progresses, though if you need anything small done, just hit me up. (Just trying to do my best)

Yo.

I've been busy with school tbh, and when not in school I've just been... getting some with Emma? That's my honest answer. :X

However, now I've got two weeks off I hope that in these mornings, nights and days either side of socializing I can fit in as much developing as I can! :)

It's not as if I have enough ammo to go twice every day, right? The worlds system will me coming on nicely. :+

Well, we had a chat about me already. Not much more I can tell ya' except I'm moving along as much as I can with my free time. Hopefully we ALL can get moving, and get this thing done. Redbull anyone?

btw: I like the idea about having 3.0 on sa-mp as well. I was thinking the same thing myself, but was not sure if it was worth the time and effort.

Well, I had some stuff last week, medical research, and some stuff to do for school, the deathGUI is almost done, I hope it's finished tonight somewhere, otherwise tommorow. it's just that I suck at doing things for the first time, after I got it right I will be able to do things faster.

Hello, just got back from visiting relatives from the Easter holidays.

The Prop handler is about 80% complete. The large things that still need to be completed are the property-modification command for admins (e.g. /property set <attrribute> <value>) and the save/restore stuff when people unintentionally disconnect. Hopefully I can get those done in the next few days and kidnap someone for some testing and then have it ready to be committed by Monday.
