The new main character will be Niko Bellic, Niko is an East-European immigrant who came to Liberty City to live the ‘American Dream’.
Four of the five main districts of New York have been chosen and edited to fit in the game, also a little part of New Jersey. Broker will be the name for Brooklyn, Algonquin for Manhattan, Dukes for Queens and The Bronx will be called Bohan inside the game. The map will be smaller then San Andreas, but will have more details on it.
Footmen will be more realistic then ever. They will read books, smoke cigarettes and sit on benches. Just like it is in real life on the streets.
The police will be there in Liberty City, just like in all the other GTA games, but this time they will act different because the game is playing in the year 2007.
There will be no airplanes, jetpacks or rollerskates inside GTA IV. Rockstar wants to create a more realistic game, but there may be possibility to ride on motorcycles.
After the first loading screen, you will never see one again inside the game, even not when walking inside a building.
The PS3 and Xbox360 versions of the game will be identical, but the Xbox version will have downloadable content, there is no information about this for the PS3 version.
Last but not least, the game will have some sort of multiplayer content, but it isn’t going to be a MMO. The developers are looking for something that will fit with the single player adventure, so maybe something co-operative?
