There needs to have been an egg, coming from some sort of animal, to start off the first chicken.

pff, 200 milion years ago we had dinosours, and now all those dinosaurs are chickens, they both lay eggs

Who says that only the chicken lay eggs? I mean other animals do too. Aren't chances big that another animal layed an egg and got some miscreature that evolved into a chicken?
