Post removing

Why do my posts keep getting removed? I didn't know there was a Posting Quality Checking Unit in these forums. Most of the forum is shit-posting with badly-written english and my posts get removed? I can't help but feel there's something against me on the part of some of the crew, even though I have done nothing wrong or insulting to them.

Posts are not removed based on quality of English, but based mostly on the content and resulting function of the post. Some of your posts match this pattern, some do not. E.g. your last post in the League section would result in a whole new discussion, while the point has been made and people should try to get on-topic again and have fun.

This is the way I see it.

What bothers me most of all is when another member of our community is, in essence, "put down" or "degraded". They might deserve it, but that doesn't mean you (or anyone else) should take the plunge and proceed with malicious comments.

I don't think it would be fair to link to any specific posts - but it has happened.

It goes without saying, our style of moderating will not be to everyone's taste. The same goes with every other forum. We're simply doing our best to keep this community a fun, positive place to be. In some instances, we delete posts, like cake mentioned, to try and keep the train on the track.

Lots of words but not much to them. You basically erase posts where I call people I know "faggots" or whatever. Don't you talk like to your friends/people you know? We've got enough trust to call ourselves those kind of words, who are you to judge if it's offensive, when it clearly isn't?

And I wasn't talking about "english levels", I was talking about quality posting which George mentioned once. How is there any kind of quality in any post when all I see is broken english, posts with no meaning at all and even offenses? These have been around way too long before you even popped up in these forums, I don't get it why you need to "prove your power", I couldn't care less and we could do without it because it adds nothing to this community.

Hi Shark,

What you call your friends is absolutely none of our concern.

What is our concern is conveying a positive message from our forums, creating a friendly and welcoming environment for everybody involved. You know who your friends are, they know who you are, but a new, random player won't know either of you, yet sees vulgar language going back and forth. We, evidently, do not accept that.

This is not limited to the forums either, it applies to all our public communication channels.

People sharing their thoughts in broken English is a direct consequence of the majority of our players not being native English speakers. (This is why we decided to drop the English-only rule on the server as well.)

Your reference to George "proving his power" is inappropriate. Please don't do that again.

Thanks,
Russell

Hi Russell, you can call me Pedro.

Sure, friendly stuff and all that. Thing is, this is a +18 game. Nothing about it is supposed to be friendly or well-mannered. Look at the characters, they say the n-word but if you say it here or in-game you automatically get banned. It's like punishing people for shooting guns in the game. But anyway, sa-mp, or rather lvp, was never a perfect behaviour community. There were always e-gangsters online, people telling others to fuck off etc. This was the essence of it, this is what made it great. Do you think any of the old-timers would have the experience they had if they all say "Good morning" to anyone and always behaved properly? You and I both know that. The magic of lvp was all about to trash-talking and competition. Not asking please when you wanted to sneeze. The crew nowadays have such a short leash on players when it should be the other way around. It's okay to ban people for 2 weeks for hacking, just as it's fine to mute/ban someone because all they want is to have some fun around here like they used to in the old days. Something's not right about that, is it? But then again it's your server/community. You choose what to do with it.

Hi Shark,

The game absolutely used language in order to create their intended environment, and it worked out very well. You can't create the "ghetto" feeling as Rockstar did in the Los Santos part of the storyline without it.

The difference between Rockstar's application and yours is that they use the language in moderation, at the appropriate moments and, most importantly, while respecting the player. The trash talking in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is limited to communication between the game's 3D models— never towards the player.

You argue that Las Venturas Playground never was a perfect community. I agree, but it's certainly not up to you to make it worse.

The remainder of your message focuses on exaggerations, which is a very weak form of argument.

No, it's not necessary to say "good morning", or "pardon" when you sneeze. Competitive behaviour is based on anger and frustration, on the desire to, rather literally in this context, kill each other. The old-timers played exercised this behaviour based on respect; they may have absolutely loathed the opposing gangs, but they fought fairly and with respect.

You lack this respect.

I don't know what you're still doing around here. If you don't like Las Venturas Playground, just go away. If you do choose to stay, then help to make it better, because right now you're actively harming the community. That is why your posts are being deleted. That is why this complaint is void.

Thanks,
Russell

How exactly am I making it worse? My boyp, I love LVP, I spent a lot of my time here and I like it. I can't see how I'm harming the community. I'm not particularly destroying anyone's lives or annoying them - if I am, please do reply to this. The only thing I didn't like was getting silenced by people who haven't been here longer than me, while older people would never mute anyone based on the reason they did. But everything's good. Sorry if I bothered you or anything.
