[C]RomanOberoi - VIP rights abuse

On this sunny day, RomanOberoi abused his VIP rights.
He muted me without any valid argument or warning. As can be read on the LVP frontpage, abusing VIP rights results in a loss of VIP status. I hereby ask the crew to follow the procedures and take away the VIP status of RomanOberoi.

[i]Any form of abuse will result in losing the ability to VIP Mod. We do not offer a second chance on this, once you screw up, you screw up for good. Of course this does sound a little bit harsh, but abusing is an absolute no-go. A small addition to this: if you made an error, mostly being a wrong ID being muted, it isn't abuse. Abuse is for example, but not limited to:

Muting people for no reason at all.
(Un)muting people for your own benefit, which isn't covered in the rules above.[/i]

I looked in the logs and it seems like he muted you right after you said this:

He should have warn you before muting though.

Fat Cobra was constantly ship nading, so a fuck you was very much in place.
Besides, "fuck you" is one of the most mentioned words in the LVP chat, next to "ez".

FYI, VIP Mod features are access to admin vehicles + lang/unlang. You loose that on abuse, not your VIP status.

Swearing is against the rules.
Yes a lot of people swear ingame, usually the admins will not mute for every single swear word, but look at the context.

When there are no admins ingame this is up to the vipmods.
I do think you were muted quite strictly and without warning, but I understand RomainOberoi has been asked to warn players before muting.

I am confident that either he will, or he will be reported once more.
If the latter is the case the situation will be reviewed again, be assured it will not be tolerated if he keep muting you without warning.

Good one, look at the context. Have you looked at the context? Fat Cobra was nading the ship. Blowing people of and killing them. Not one time, but continuously. Of course Fat Cobra knows this isn't allowed, since he's a regular.

I've NEVER seen an admin mute a player in the 600 hours I played on LVP. And you're saying a previous banned player who was mad at me at that particular time was doing the right thing by muting me? Don't think so.

This is contradicting to what is being said on the font page. LVP is enforcing a nonsense policy (at least it says so) regarding VIP mod abuse. Now you're saying he has been warned AFTER he didn't handle his VIP mod rights correctly? Sounds like the opposite world to me.


Overall, I think it's pretty crazy how fair players like me (and Target for instance in the other C topic) are being dealt with, in favor of players that are banned multiple times and are known for their abusive behavior.

I agree with the both of you. Based on the rules, the mute is correct. Based on experience, it isn't. We usually do not mute for the smaller things like this but VIPMods may, and they have every right to.
As striker said, a warning would have been better.

We are indeed strict when it comes to abusing VIPMod. In this case however, there is no real abuse.
