I've heard it a lot before.
I remember years ago watching a family guy episode (I think... I've stopped watching family guy but still watch simpsons- haven't seen the episode for a while) where Peter sticks a bunch of pregnant women's hands in warm water and they all give birth, kind of making a joke on that 'urban myth.'
