Ingame "Regulars" chat ;
#1
Hello!

I was ingame yesterday and wanted to write a message to all so that those in minigames could see it too, and that it would stand out in bright orange. So i used the ; chat.

I then found out that this was "regulars" chat and that only people who had been ingame for 50+ hours or whatever can read it.

Can that be changed so that all can read it? I suppose back in the day it was a nice feature to have when the server was crowded, but now its useful to communicate with people in minigames and I think shouldnt just be limited to regulars.

Thank you.

I don't know if I fully agree, but I think you have a point; If you're in any other map zone, world and or minigame, you will be "disconnected" from the mainchat.

I see this has its uses, but I do not think that LVP is popular enough, that it needs separate chats. I think a server with the current popularity of LVP would benefit more from using ONE mainchat instead of several, because using ONE mainchat, you would end up with more activity in it - and activity on the server usually generates more activity (Which is HIGHLY needed!). It is more than sufficient enough to use the /pm feature if you want a private chat with other people.

yes i agree with Elmo (of course!!) if you are playing a minigame its good to only see chat for that minigame....but its also necessary to use ; to talk to people outside of your minigame specially if you need to talk to more than one person. So we use ; "regulars" chat for that but its not very nice for people with less than 50 hours gametime that they cant see it.

You could just have a prefix for a minigame-only chat. Just like gangs, but with another tag than !

I still dont think there is a need to be disconnected from the main chat, if you would get distracted, you shouldn't be able to read the regular chat neither.

Mainchat has a lot more random in it.
And when explaining robbery to nabs its good to not have a command to talk in minigame chat...
