Experience system
#1
To keep players coming back and have a sense of progress I propose a experience points system.

Points can be gained in all sorts of gameplay activities like:
  • Killing: with a sniper gets more points then sawnoff
  • Minigames
  • Properties/empire
  • Exports

The experience bar from single player could be used to display the current amount you have.

This can lead to ranks and a highscore list.

Yeah, it would indeed keep players more addicted to the server. But isn't that similar to the karma? It simply isn't available in the server, only on the website, which should be changed.

Karma an be good or bad. No matter if you are generating positive or negative karma, you should be able to level up.
This would def. work addictive. We already measure minigames won, exports kills etc. But now the only benefit of having stats atm is the ingame hours for pluspoints.

There's an experience bar in single player?!

Anywho, this sounds interesting, but what would be the rewards for getting experience?

We don't have any plans for a system like this for 2.94. It won't be implemented for a while (i.e. LVP 3.0).

I have an idea for now, in LVP 2.94, which may be attractive to DMers. The bonuses are that it's incredibly easy to script and would potentially only take a few lines of code :)

DM ranks:-

Based on the amount of kills a player has a players ratio, they receive a deathmatch rank. This potentially could be linked to their website profile too.

Ratio          Rank
0 or less:    Rookie
1-1.2:        Novice Killer
1.3-1.5:      Killer
1.6-1.8:      Novice Murderer
1.9-2.5:      Murderer
2.6-3.0:      Novice Rampager
3.1-3.5:      Rampager
3.6-4.0:      Hitman
4.1-5.0:      Professional Hitman
5.1-6.0:      Mass Murderer
6.1+:          Deathmatch Champion
