You dont have a fuckin shop nearby? You live in the jungle or something?
And its not 1000 bucks, its 1000 indian rupee. 1000 Rupee is actually 22 dollars. Thats normal if it goes up to 5k. (I bet new games cost 5k)

I got Halo 2 working a while ago, the retail copy will have the same problems.
I remember it took me about an hour to get it working though, I suggest you google for your error + Halo 2.
